While you're on the bus to York, can you have a natter and make a few suggestions about the following:
We had workmen in - gas and electric within a week of each other - and, although a lot of stuff got sealed in with plastic sheeting and gaffa/duck/duct tape, there's still quite a lot of dust and bits of plaster in every room
Would you:
a) do one room at a time and work ceiling to floor till you'd done the lot
b) start at the top of every room and work through the whole flat doing the top bit, then the middle, then the floor _pale_
c) bring extra bits into the daily routine WHAT daily routine?? says the voice at the back of my mind :rotfl:
d)
On reflection, B seems like a really bad idea, but we have a little portable vacuum as well as the usual full size one so this would cut down on the stuff that drops to the floor.
All ideas gratefully received. Best wishes to all.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

I know someone with working huskies if that would help:rotfl:
My mother has sausage dogs if you can't borrow huskies!Penelope_Penguin wrote: »How about we meet in Sheffield (John Lewis tea shop, or Meadow [STRIKE]hell [/STRIKE]hall). Week after Easter suits me. 8 April anyone?
If there are enough Flyladies for a York meet, we could do that the week after :j
Can't do the 8th.. I have hospital appointment.. Plus the chimps are off school that week so I can't do that week anyway..
Week after for York.. I can't do Friday.. not sure of other 4 days though..Pigpen - I think your phenomenol (big word, probably spelt wrong). I can only hope I have a similar attitude should I enter the 'P' word situation.

I'm confused but...Tell me if I am talking baby stuff too much on here, I'm a bit lost on the pg thread as they are all having babies quite soon and mine is ages away! I bought a really nice chicco padded baby chair for £5 last night from netmums and I'm so pleasedI am having a bargain baby and that's official...it's becoming a bit of a challenge (like my wedding, some will remember!). I also went to a real nappy demo yesterday, was fab
bargain... but so long as you have a bit of flying in there it is fine to waffle baby as much as you like..funfairprincess wrote: »Piggers keep meaning to say then CRAFT kicks in.... Can I offer you a new avvie? Just wondering as we are in March and it's a christmasy one. Let me know and I'll try to find whatever you want. I know you like christmas though so you might want to keep it but I thought I'd ask
I have one I want, but I need to edit it and am too busy doing inane stuff... but I do like my rudolph..
ta muchly xxPigpen, I think you only know about Soappie's KGB experience because you were like that woman from the bond film in a former life, just health and safety have made you remove the knives from your mules (ducks, just in case:p):D

When we had the fire we had to do it this way!
Started in the worst room.. at the top wet wiping/scrubbing everything start at top work to ground level.. Though I did have to clean used surfaces first..
Kitchen surfaces etc (anything children or food touched!) first
Then started on top of kitchen units.. including inside cupboards and ALL the crockery went through the DW.. worked to floor..
Backroom.. started at black webs and worked way to muddy fireman boot prints on the carpet!... and so on throughout the hovel!
Took maybe 4-5 days to get through the really bad bits.. then we had industrial cleaners in who were absolute crap!
Bed stripped and bedding in WM
2 loads on the line.. OH thinks I am loopy because I said I do like seeing it flapping in the wind..
Top of kitchen units cleared ready to be painted
Binbag of rubbish from the kitchen ready to deposit at charity shop!
Bag of rubbish already binned
Recycling out
Composting out
Fish tank outside
Table cleared and wiped
Under stairs cupboard emptied.. my mother is on the hunt for fabric so hopefully I can foist some of mine on her!
Large hole in kitchen wall filled in.. just waiing for it to dry before sanding it and seeing how much more work it needs.
Best go hang out the bedding, reload the DW, Empty the TD and clear worksurfaces so I can paint the lower half.
Uncle coming later to hopefully put up at least one of the kitchen blinds!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thinking of you Sandy xxxx
In my HHC (well almost hour) I put away washing, stripped and remade DD's bed, did the other beds, sorted out the books in DS's room (they were all over the place - now neatly on the book shelf), vacuumed right through, cleaned upstairs bathroom and downstairs toilet so pretty good going really.
Now going to do my ironing - have to go and get DS at 12 and would like to be as up together as I can be and thought maybe this afternoon I'll have a go at dot to dotting and see how I get on with it. Got 5 typing jobs coming in over the next 24 hours which need to be done relatively quickly, so want to get as much done now as I can.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Right I am off to pick friend up in a few minutes. Just updating what I have done
[STRIKE]Unpack and put everything away from my many weeks away
[/STRIKE]Clean my equipment (you would be horrified if I told you what it is) I have my boots left to clean
[STRIKE]Hang washing up[/STRIKE] Washing is on airer and WM is on a clean cycle, my stuff was so dirty that I daren't do anymore until it has cleaned itself.
[STRIKE]Have a quick tidy round[/STRIKE]
Haven't got a clue when I will be back.
If there are any spare vibes going round, hopefully the good sort, can you give a thought to my OH between about 2.45 and 3.45. He has got an assessment at school and he is more nervous than usual.
See you all later xMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
