Not done any flying today, apart from washing up. DH has got a chesty cough and is feeling very poorly. He's gone to bed already! That's almost unheard of! I'm really tired and have a tickle in my throat, so hopefully I'm not getting it.

Anyway, I went out first thing to get cough syrup and cornflakes, and we've had a kind of chill out day watching the end of sport relief. I've done a bit of work too, but not all that much.

Watching Rhod Gilbert now, he's so funny!

Tomorrow, if DH goes to work I will be hoovering and cleaning bathroom. If he's here it's a bit impossible to do anything as there's no room!

If he's home, you could always send him to the bathroom and tell him not to come out until you say so :D

    And vice versa ;)

Hey Toots - I knew you would 000203FC.gif

Mums not great to be honest - shes had a heart attack and is also suffering from angina now too - whats worse is her confidence has also taken a severe dent. Its like shes kinda resigned herself to being poorly and when she does try, bless her, it knocks her for 6. Oh - and she is also refusing to travel abroad again EVER and certainly will probably never entertain getting on a plane again in her life..... 000204EF.gif

Whats worse is shes split up with her fella, and because shes signed off work and not able to do a great deal, shes got plenty time to sit around and mull over and dwell on everything.

Unfortunately its a vicious circle for her at the minute. Im hoping shes going to come down here for a few weeks after her next hospital appt at the beginning of April but watch this space....

The good news is my sister finally ditched her good for nothing KH

    0002013F.gif

Shes a little bit hurt cos in the process shes found out on top of everything else he is a flipping liar, but then she was the only person who didnt know it....it wasnt a shock to everyone else, but she trusted him so it was a blow for her nonetheless.

At least now, she will be able to start paying off the debts shes mounted up and hopefully find someone who will treat her better.... Shes job hunting now that they are back from Oz so have been helping with CVs and covering letters etc, so hopefully she will find something else soon.

How are you keeping precious? Hope you are ok xx If its easier, send me an email or PM so I dont get in trouble for clogging up the thread after being AWOL :D (maybe if Piggers is feeling generous she will fling me a pass whilst chucking mules at the rest of you :D )

I feel exhausted - just had 19yr old friend of DS here sharing a load of problems and woes - he feels he doesn't get any support from family and is really a mixed up kid! Hopefully DS and I have been able to help and point him in the right direction. He will let us know how he is coping!
I'm off work tomorrow so hopefully get lots of flying done although whether I manage any stars remains to be seen!
Good night one and all and sweet dreams:)

Didn't get as much done as I'd hoped, but I'm shattered, so I'm not going to keep going. The kitchen is, however, looking better just for being tidied and wiped down after a week and a half of chaos.

Need to pack for the morning (fitness assessment at gym near work @ 9am. Hope I can use the showers there afterwards as I'm going into the office afterwards...

    See you all tomorrow!

rose - you can definitely be an RE/RS teacher and an atheist - at it's basic level it's just a subject like any other and should be about teaching the study of religion, not religious instruction. I did theology to Masters level and a number of my fellow students didn't have their own faith. It obviously depends on context but in my view a good RS teacher should be about helping kids to think for themselves about life, the universe and everything and not drumming one religion into them!
Interesting point, I'd never thought of it like that. I guess I was thinking from the point of view of: will they enthuse the kids?

Sexy, I’m so proud of you, you will have helped all your colleagues and anyone else who goes to work at that school by speaking out today, well done!

    Hugs Gotnodosh

Leed, thinking of your DD’s friend

83Rachel glad your evening out went well. I’ve always thought Frankie and Bennys were good, and that confirms it. The staff always seem really nice whenever I’ve been there

Tiredanddesperate how great about your son being on the gifted and talented register! Fab!

Kezlou, kids and locked doors eh, what a nightmare! Someone at work told me once about her daughter, who had a little baby and a young child. The child locked itself into the loo at a supermarket and couldn’t get out – and the mum couldn’t leave her there to go and get help as the supermarket was being done up and the public loos were in a porta cabin in the car park. She ended up climbing on the loo in the next door cubicle and climbing over the dividing wall. Just as she was astride the dividing wall, someone came in! Oh well at least she rescued her child!

Thanks to those who commented on my sister’s necklace

Diva, glad to hear that Tris and Michelle are doing well

Love and hugs to Lady Liberty and Sandy – please post, we are worried about you

    Jo, hugs to your family

Soappie – good idea. I really want to get the hoovering done, so will try to do it around him if necessary!

    List for Thursday:
    Wash up
    Clear all floors
    Hooover all floors
    Clean bathroom

JOJO what was the film like, DH wants to go but it doesn't appeal to me

Spent a very frustrating hour working out how much we have lost out on our travel insurance claim

  • Well, don't let anyone else know but - I'm not a fan of Johnny Depp and Tim Burton films generally leave me cold - but I enjoyed this film. The 3D works very well, especially if you are as near the centre of the cinema as possible, it is definitely worth the extra.

I'm usually a terrible fidget and get bored with films, but this held my attention throughout.

Am now developing a long and expensive list of other 3D movies to see in the future!

    Morning lovely flyladies,
Rosepink -hugs.gif LadyL is fine hon, she is just having some 'me' time, so please do not worry and no doubt she will have spoken to you by the time you read this or even posted!!
LadyL - smooch.gif Love you honey.
Poppy - Thanks for the pm
Toots - love.gif Big hugs honey! Wasn't aware of being any more cheerful than normal, but I guess it depends on who I have to respond to and what they said and Natty made me laugh re my cat and the tadpoles etc.giggle.gif And you ignore my mad things?? Shaaaaammmmmme on you.. giggle.gif
    Jinkypinks - kiss.gif
GnB - huge good luck vibes to you and your little one
Jojo - Thank goodness for that, I thought I was the only woman in the world who wasn't a fan of Mr Depp and not really Tim Burton either. I saw Alice in Wonderland and like Charlie and the chocolate factory did not enjoy it.
Notso - we were only ever allowed one egg at easter, everyone else had to give us books or something sensible. Mum always was very strict on our sweetie consumption. Of course we hated it and always wanted more chocolate.. Probably why I am such a piggy now, making up for a deprived childhood giggle.gifgiggle.gif
xx Jo xx - Yes we did miss you!
Tris is doing as well as he can but that isn't terribly well. I didn't try to be economical with the truth but at the same time wanted to report something back. He has good moments but not so many right now. But he has always pulled through before so we always believe he will again. However, it looks like the head injury that he had in the crash has actually had some lasting effect on his memory etc so it's hard to know how that will work out.
Hope everyone has a great day.
    With love, light and hugs
