Hi guys. Feeling a bit down tonight. Was at niece's wedding yesterday, which went well, but we've got back tonight to find that blind cat has got out of the garden somehow and into the garden across the fence. The people there have taken her to the local animal shelter as they thought she was sick
and I can't get her back till tomorrow.
She hates being away from home and will be so scared. I guess this means she has to be 100% an indoor cat, but I don't want the other one to be 100% indoor if I can avoid it, so I need to work out how that will work logistically. I'm scared to death they will have her put down before I can get to her. She's happy in herself and still very loving etc. just blind. Had a happy day yesterday and now feel awful about leaving her and want to cry

2cats1kid, is there anyway you can ring them or email and let them know you will be coming for her? so they know she has a home."it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" - my dad, regularly throughout my childhood when I complained about something being too small/not perfect/not tasty/not what I wanted. he was right every time.0

I've tried. We got home at about 3pm and realised she wasn't in the house. I had a little wander around calling her to see if she was anywhere near and didn't see her, so I left it a little while longer and went out to call again. This time a woman heard me and asked was I looking for a black and ginger cat (well, she's tortie with black and ginger in her coat, I suppose) and that someone had been round a few minutes before to ask if anyone had lost a cat. I tracked down the person who found her and they said they'd taken her to the shelter as she looked ill (well she would have been looking confused as she'd wandered from her usual places that she knows by smell). Unfortunately the shelter shut at 4 and it was after 4 by this point, so I called their out of hours number but just got a security guy who didn't know anything.
She will be in a pen with lots of other cat smells and be confused. Feel dreadful for leaving her, even if only overnight. Thing is she is very small and thin but always has been - that's just how she is - so I hope they don't think she's ill or something because she really isn't. She always has biscuits and water available, she just eats what she needs and no more, really. Ack!
I'll call them at 8am when they open, and just hope I can get her back in time to get to work. If not, I'll go straight from work and DD can come home on the school bus. That's assuming she's still there and OK
ETA she had a magnetic collar on, so hopefully they realise she does belong to someone. Need to get an emergency ID thing cut for her.0 -
I need to rant - sorry.
Ive been in pain all day, legs are killing me which has made me feel down to begin with then I get an e-mail of an old friend with pics of her new baby, which is lovely of her but I am not baby friendly as all I want is to be able to have 1, and now mum has just come and had a go at me because my bedroom is untidy, which yes it is but my wardrobe, my drawers and my dresser have all been moved out and everything is everywhere cz its being decorated and yet I am supposed to be able to keep it completely tidy apparently!!!
I just want to cry, I've been quite hormonal all weekend and I hate it but it's just made me feel **** now.
Sorry Rant over0
