    Good afternoon all :)

Redruby Definitely get in touch with the Health & Safety Exec. Your poor DD - give her a big hug from me xx

Flutterby :bdaycake::bdaycake:Happy Birthday hope you have a good one xx

Two lines of washing are out & look to be drying beautifully in the lovely sun :T I'm ironing this afternoon and making a fridge use up of baked potatoes with various fillings for tea. I'll cook the scheduled beef another day.

Have a good day all & make the most of the weather xxx
  • Posh Paws - my Grandma had PMR so I can empathise with your pain. Since I have got involved with this forum and money saving in general, I feel guilty that I can't do as much overtime as my OH - even though I know this is silly, and I would be the first to tell someone else not to feel guilty everynow and then it gets to me.

Don't mean to sound negative, I am actually a very positive person, just want to know if others ever feel the same? x
Hmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!

Jellybaby, I know exactly what you mean. It is hard not to feel guilty when you see members of the family grafting away for the good of the whole, but you're sitting there feeling incapable and impotent. I suppose, in my case, I try to not be a burden in small ways that don't take much out of me. Like not using too many pots when I'm cooking - as DH is going to be the one doing the washing up. In truth, I think I probably contribute towards the family more than I give myself credit for. After all, it's me who does the budgeting, and the meal planning, and the shopping lists, and the making sure DS has what he needs when he needs it. The worst bit, guilt-wise, for me is when DH has to get up early at the weekend to walk the dawgies. I used to really enjoy doing that and now can't, so he has to. *sigh* Can't be helped, but it still makes me feel bad! :)
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

    Afternoon all.

I am in a filthy mood, don't know why. Does anyone else get really bad moods for no apparent reason? It wasn't helped by the fact that I tried to get my DS passport photo, and none of the 3 attempts were any good, so that was £4 wasted. Grrrrrrrr.

Anyway, have done something positive today, we all went and did the mile for sports relief at DS school which was nice, as the weather is lovely. Really good turn out which I was pleased to see.

    Flutterby - Happy Birthday
jc - what are you like, feeling up strange men in the leisure centre!!! :rotfl:
redruby - thats awful, your poor DD. I would definitely complain to H&S.
Bitsy - enjoy the park and picnic. I am dieting at the moment, started last Monday back on Slimming World (yet again!). Its great when I stick to it, but my willpower is so pants I often have big blowouts!

Hope everyone enjoys their day. :)

Happy Birthday to flutterbyuk, Have a great day :bdaycake:

Yesterday in B & Q a huge box, ( taller than me, and very heavy) fell from the racking and hit my dd on the head and face,, bless her, she never cries, but I think she was in shock and she burst into tears, I asked for a first aider and the manager, the manager never turned up and I had to wait 10 minutes for the first aider, who was more concerned about completing the incident form than seeing to my dd, the only first aid offered was a glass of water or did we want an ambulance , dd went to a sleepover last night so I have not seen her this morning, but she has brusing to her face. I have sent an E-mail to head office, I am not interested in a financial gain, but they need to look at their racking etc, if that has hit a small child it would have crushed them. Makes me so mad, useless shop staff

A few years ago a lady was killed in our local B&Q in a similar incident so you would think (hope?) that they had got their act together and made their staff aware.

Hope that your DD is okay and will emerge unscathed - not that that is any excuse . . .

Following on from that I had a wee google, and without wishing to alarm you, redruby, a man in Dublin died almost a year ago in similar circumstances ina B&Q store. I've found this news story which isn't quite so scary, but thought would bolster your resolve in reporting them to the HSE

Accidents do happen, but negligence means it's not an accident, and if they were negligent they should get their a$$es kicked.

    Hi all,
Very long time since I posted last, I'm glad to be back with the interwebs!
Hugs to all who need them or just fancy a hug :D

I'm now permanently employed which has made me right happy (last time I posted, I think I was still on the dole) and I'm now concentrating on how to make the best of my (unexpectedly) alright salary. :money:

Ladyshopper - I'm quite well known for my infrequent but awful random moods, people just leave me alone until I'm back to normal.

Today, I've been recovering from surgery yesterday - by eating lots of left over birthday cake - and I'm heading back to the People's Republic of North Wales. Hopefully, I'm going to catch a nap on the way back and wake up with the energy to attack my very messy kitchen!

I'm hoping to do a massive, massive clear out of my stuff and maybe car boot the stuff, does anyone have any ideas, tips or advice on this subject?

    Much loves to all,

    Mait!

:eek:, that shop is very close to us, its not the same one as yesterday, but very close, I have not heard anything back yet, but will keep you posted, it has made my mind up though I will be contacting the H + S police, does anyone know who I should contact ???? DD is back from her dads at five, so will have another look at her face then, OH and I popped into B & Q while my tyres were being done, the same box was still on the same shelf , I took some photos of it for proof, the shop lady yesterday said she would get it moved . Thanks for all the good wishes xxx
