so surely then that's the way to go..for the next week-rather than 56 days, dont buy any shopping. make up a week long meal plan using what you have-i tend to do some variables on mine eg, if i have mince i'll give lasagne or chilli as an option for 1 day and see how i feel at time..

just go for baby steps and try it for a week-even if you just use your freezer stuff as the basics for your fod and have to be the extra bits some sauces or bveg etc it will still be more economical than starting from scratch..good luck!
    Budget for Jan/Feb £240 per 4 weeks
Week 1-£52  Week 2-£75
    Week 3-£60.66 :confused:Week 4-£29.98 Total=£217.58
    w/c 18th Feb: £6.50
  • I've just got the last bread receipt from my husband and the total for this month is £26.35. We did go on holiday for ten days and although a lot of the food was stuff we already had, we spent about £30 on food for the holiday but that was included in the holiday budget. Milk on holiday was £1.50 for a 2litre bottle!

Count me in from 31st August. My shopping in the past on food has been ridiculous spending in one shop £100+ and buying far too much pre-prepared food with the nutrition of a gnat! and then going to the shop for top ups nearly every night.
There's me and 4 kids but I've just ordered this weeks shopping online (using the £10 off £35 min spend asda voucher) total £32 cost for me. I've found the meal plans from on here and I'm going to cook from scratch. I'm aiming for £200 for the month but I have lots of frozen chicken, pasta, rice and sauces in already that can be used. Here goes then:)
Thanks to MSE and all the moneysaving tips I can now work PT (instead of FT) to pay the bills and still have fun!!
