Free Sky+ HD Box, Instillation & 6 months free!!!

Ive had sky for about 10 yrs and never had an offer for anything but am also too chicken to ring up and ask, but I took the plunge and said what other people had said about the answerphone message, they just asked when was the message left and I just said Monday and the lovely lady said she could see the offer and set it up right away.

Thankyou to the OP for the thread and thanks to all the lovely posters for giving the tips on how to do it.

this happened to me when i recently ordered. i was only given an option of tues to weds over the following 2 weeks. i clicked back a page or 2 tho, to check something. when i went forward again it came up with dates for just about every day for the next 6 weeks! this happened on a dummy run and the actual order. don't know if it's because they want to fill up imminent slots or it was a glitch etc. but play around and see if the same happens.
your partner could also just book a date, then call them to rearrange it for the actual date you want (have your change of personal circumstances story ready in case they notice and ask about the live contract you have at the address). i don't know of anyone having trouble rearranging an install date.

I called yesterday and said that they had left an answer machine message offereing Free HD, free installation and 12 months free subscription however before I went ahead I wanted to check there were no catches as on the website it says to get free HD you have to have multi room too. The lady said no there were no catches and arranged someone to come and install the new box next Wednesday. She didnt check with any managers or ask who called or for a reference number, she was lovely. Although I do have my phone and broadband on Unlimited and all the movies and sports too so I have quite a high package and have been with them for over 6 years, not sure if it makes a difference what package you have with them.

Just pay normal existing subscribtion?
No additional costs?
any lock in after free 12 months to HD?
and what happens if you don't subscribe to HD after 12 months, do you just keep your normal package/subscription?

Nothing extra to pay. Monthly bill payments stay the same unless you take out multi-room which is £10 per month

Cancel HD after 12 months then revert back to non-hd sky

Ring 08442 411 442 then press 0

tell them skyn rang you offering the above deal but you were out so they left a message but have not got back to you

Just come across this thread...I have also been offered this deal and wanted to know what happens after the 12 months, certainly don't want to pay another penny on top of our monthly sub.

but do make sure that is what you get and agree with the rep if you do this by phone...there can be variations

after 11 months, cancel hd part (giving the 31 days notice to end 12 month contract) and you will continue paying your normal sub.

I just called (we have a £21 basic package with no movies) and said my HUBBy took a call from them the other night offering this deal and he wanted me to call back today as he doesn't deal with "housey" stuff etc. and I wanted to make sure no catches...

Lady said no catches, just cancel after 12 months if not required. She also said that random customers were being called with this deal and we were just fortunate to be be one of them!

Coming next Wed to install :T
