Never got a call , just said I did. Sky never batted an eyelid and offered it me.cinderellacomplex wrote: »I phoned but didn't say that they had left a message and they just told me that they can see when you were last phoned. Argh! Have they actually been leaving answerphone messages? If they did, what exactly did they say? I might need to try that one next - really don't want to miss out on this just because I didn't get my name picked out of a hat!
Try again, and again and again, Eventually you will get someone who's nice0 -

Hi princesswoo,
Not sure if this is a stupid question.
I have just put in my 31 days cancellation notice.
I want to take out a new contract in my partners name as a new customer, do I need to wait until the 31 days and the Sky has actually gone off, or could I apply again now?
Cheers.0 -

Hi Bummer007
When I was moving home about 4 years ago I cancelled sky (partners name) and re ordered the next day in my name for my new address so it was set up the day after we moved in! Not sure if it still works that way now and tho you are not moving home the principle is the same, you could be new in the home!
Im sure princesswoo will get back to you soon and let you know how she does it!

no you dont need to wait.
When i did this last may DF rang up and cancelled as they were offering him nada for staying with them, he thrn told them he was moving in with his mum and dad and they already had sky so he no longer needed it, a few hours later i signed up online via quidco for an instalation date on the day that his sky ran out. because im so excited about moving into my new house that i want to get this booked now as i know somethimes they can get busy
Its as if he's moved out of the house and i have moved in as a new occupier.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

Thanks for the responses princesswoo and lawlorlane.
I cancelled today, so it officially ends in 31 days.
I just did a dummy run in my partners name and it only gives me installation options for next week...so my old contract will still be live.
Any ideas?
Cheers.

Well I got offered the deal last night (well, I say offered, but what I mean is I badgered them in a way). I told them I had been left a message and been called by them on 3 occasions (which I had been, but they hadn't left a message) I acted all surprised saying they were offering a special deal for the HD and I was to call back. I told the girl that they never left a number so my best bet was to phone Sky HD. She then put me on hold to check my account, came back and said there was no note on my account for the deal. She then asked if they left a reference number and I said i don't think so as the message was kind of muffled.lol...she then put me on hold again to check my account and came back saying...wait for it...''oh, that's it just appeared on your account now'' lmao!!
I feel if you really want it, you need to have a lot of bottle to push it through and talk for europe to achieve your goal.
Good luck to everyone whos trying.0 -

i got you!
i was blabbering through the phone as well last night, saying why do i have to call back for this deal, what makes it so special blah blah blah, in the end i got it
it takes 3 phone calls to get it. so my advice is: keep calling till you get a nice CS
also if they say they have to call u back, ask them to leave a note on ur account saying u been offered this deal n been call back n waiting for them to call back AGAIN(i know is sooo confusing,), and then hang up n call again, saying u have missed their call AGAIN since last time u call them
sorry if i sounds very confusing, but is all WORTH IT in the end :j0 -
Oh my goodness I really want to deal but I don't have the guts to ring up! haha0
