I think every house needs a rumpus room - actually I think every member of the family should have their own!

Hope you're feeling better Hypno - I've been sneezing all day and having spent the afternoon in a stonkingly warm hospital I fully expect to have developed full blown plague by the morning. :D

Yes, one rumpus room per person would be excellent! hope things were ok at the hospital. Any closer to getting any answers?

Oooh a rumpus room, a girl who lived along the road from me when I was at primary school had a massive games room in the cellar and we were all so jealous!

Just to join in with the dieting talk - I did Slimming World about 8 years ago and lost about a stone with it in 8 weeks but put that all back on quickly. When I got weighed at the family planning clinic about 5 years ago I was soooooo ashamed of my weight - I hadn't weighed myself in years and just ignored the jeans that wouldn't do up but I felt disgusted when the nurse read out my weight  I managed to lose 2.5 stone in about 6 months from changing what I was eating and walking to work and back. Also during that time I saw a gynaecologist about something else and he said it was quite likely I had PCOS and that cutting carbs down would help (he was right) and also to avoid anything labelled diet apart from diet drinks as the added sugar made them very 'un diet' like!

I need to lose about 4 stone really but I have so little motivation and am out of the house from 8-6.30 every day and just struggle to allocate the time *must try harder* :o

I'm out of the house from 7am til gone 6pm at least, and quite often I don't get a proper lunch break. When I was at my heaviest, I just ate when I had time, missing breakfast, eating lunch at 3pm which was just choc and crisps from the newsagent opposite, etc.

It didn't take more than a few days to get into proper habits, though - and now I keep a box of cereal at work, so if I don't have time to eat my porridge before I leave, I can do so as soon as I get to work, etc. Batch cooking and freezing also means that when I get home, I only need to reheat something healthy, rather than miss another meal, or eat something like pizza that needed no prep.

It is more about getting your head in the right place to tackle it!

Ooh I feel bad now! You are totally right though - it's about having the willpower and I start with the best intentions....

I really like swimming but when my Psoriasis plays up I wont go as my legs get quite bad and I just can't face the stares that it brings. Not other peoples fault, I have accepted it is human nature but it's a bit upsetting.

Also really enjoyed ballroom dancing but it's not the same if you get paired up with someone you don't know, I doubt I could persuade OH but it might be worth a try ;)

I really dislike swimming! I loved salsa when I did that a few years ago. Would be tempted to go back, but it is where OH has one of his extra jobs, so would be constantly fretting about that rather than enjoying myself.

Don't feel bad about the long hours etc, it is just more a case of being motivated properly, and being in the right frame of mind - once you have that, it doesn't matter how long or little you work, it will all fall into place nicely! I have lost count of the number of times my diet has started "tomorrow" only to be ruined by the end of the day, resulting in a binge because I have failed again. Once I make the decision for the right reasons and at the right time, I am well away!

Hey ladies, well Gok is on, Mum's op is scheduled for Sun and I have 2 days off now to look forward to. Having a mucky night in a hotel tomorrow night with a new man and all is well!!! Going to another city for it so will do museums and galleries in the afternoon then dinner and drinks at night.

On the diet front I have done the evil South Beach diet in the past when i needed to get the beef off after coming off the ship. It's harsh but I lost half a stone in 2 weeks!!! Saw a similar thing in this weeks Grazia today, few weeks of protein then build the carbs gradually. I could do with getting half a stone off now as I'm short but can't be bothered at the mo. Will do it nearer my two weeks off so I feel fab for my jonts. Good habits are the way forward. I am uber organised and eat well at work and have HM dinners...but then snack on junk at night!!!

That's okay love, some folk never have any and that's alright too. We're all different. My mates and family are more important but some fun is always good for the soul X
