This DFW lark is never straightforward is it!

But my decision for today is to enjoy the sunshine. I am suitably dressed for my back garden in the sun, have my suncream, and a book to read, so "just for today" I will take a bit of time out and enjoy the weather while I can.

I have deceided I am making my life much more difficult than it needs to be by over foccussing on the debt.
As I already have the addded difficulties thrown up by my disabilities & the additional costs of that I really really need to take a step back.
I am no longer foccussing on my secured debt~have deceided for now to see it as part of my mortgage.
So at the mo I am concentrating on my last credit card.Never ever thought I would only have one credit card to pay off & you know when i think about it that is a truely fantastic achievement for me.
Everyones journey to debt freedom or even debt reduction is different.
    Keep plodding peeps

You are absolutely right - we have to remember just how far we have come, and given the varying circumstances we find ourselves in, not just personally, but with the economy etc, we are doing bloody well :T And we are all heading in absolutely the right direction. My debt is down to just over £12k, which is something I could only dream of before - and before long I will be sub 10k which means I am 90% of the way there.

And of course, in the meantime, we are taking control, and that is a very powerful thing.

My good news for today is that I got my half yearly water bill, and from August, my monthly payment will reduce by £19 a month, which is excellent.

Oh, and the sun is lovely - I have to go and get the children soon, but I have had a lovely relaxing morning outside - have done next to nothing, but hey, the ability to have a few hours in the sunshine without lugging skis or whatever, is such a rarity, I am thoroughly enjoying my opportunity to take advantage

I see where you're all coming from.

But sometimes you have to sit, be quiet and listen, even if only for a little while. There may be other signals that are trying to get through but we're all too busy to see, hear or feel them. Other ways of doing things. I just read a blog where the writer had been concentrating "with gazelle intensity" on a particular debt, cleared it (Yay!) but was then a bit too kna... tired to go for the next debt with the same amount of energy and focus. On reflection, she wished she'd taken a bit longer and reserved some energy.

If you google gazelle intensity, you'll find a lot of explanations... just what you need, more information!:rotfl:

At least "gazelle intensity" sounds quite graceful......rather unlike tackling a debt like a bull in a china shop!!

I do know that every time I either clear a debt, or get into the next £10k bracket, I have a few down days - I don't really know why, but I have learned to recognise that it happens. I guess that after paying off Mum, I am having one of those days.....coupled, I guess, with once again having to give away all my hard earned bonus to someone else, even if in the long run it is benefitting me in some way!

Ah well......onwards and ever upwards :)

WTBF - welcome to my diary. The people on here are great, so stick around!

Martina Cole - Broken........not bad to while away a few hours in the garden on a sunny day.

I've come inside now, though - my back garden doesn't get too much sun in the evening, so a bit chilly.....mind you, I have been suitably "cooked" so far today so could do with coming indoors anyway!

Hope everyone has had a good day xx
