Well i got my TWO boxes of melts but had to fight for them. Thorntons staff latest line ..............."my till will only allow me to input one voucher!!!"" BULL!!! So i fought my case - told her i couldn't go back in the week due to work and that my voucher would have expired by next Saturday, and i think she realised I was not going to back down so in the end said that she would take both vouchers today but would not be able to put one through the till until Monday - am i bothered?? And i'm on a diet so hope my family enjoy them - unless i limit myself to one per day but not sure that will work!!

I returned to Llandudno today after reading people's comments on here. I love a good argument, so didn't give my all yesterday as I wasn't entirely sure I was in the right. However, after confirming on here, I was raring to go!

I spoke to the actual proper store manager and she was creepily nice! As in I think the email I sent to head office may have filtered down to the store? You just know when they're trying that little bit too hard?! I did notice that the girl who refused to let me have more than one yesterday was busy keeping her head down though....

So for anybody else, stand your ground!

I went in yesterday to redeem: 2 boxes of Melts that I won, one 'Try me free' melts and one 'recommend a friend' caramel egg. I went to the woman on the counter and produced the print outs saying "I have some vouchers here for chocolates" and having not even finished she said "you can only redeem one at a time". I was like :s Then I explained what they all were, she wasn't too chuffed but I got all my chocs in the end.

Hi again Today i went to the worthing branch as i was going down that way. the lady was lovely she looked at the vouchers and said well done you can have your 2 boxes of melts. She also said that another lady came in with 3 in the week,i explained you could enter everyday and that if she looked at the voucher she could see the different number of the competitions i won. she also said when the other lady had 3 she thought it was strange but as it was clearly shown on the voucher that she had won then she had to follow this and give the melts.
I explained about the Horsham store and she said that was so rude and i should complain becasue the stores do know about the fb competiton and have been told to except the vouchers as long as they are differntly numbered.
I will still complain and am very angry that i was made to be a fraud in the Horsham store. God i need a chocolate.

    Good luck happy comping xx

had no problems today collecting my 2 boxes of melts sa was lovely had a few problems with the tills, which made her read the vouchers a few times she did say that i was only suppose to redeem one per person, but gave me them anyway i could have told her that it was different comps but decided not as she had already said i could have them, the younger sa didnt know wat the vouchers were for and thought it was for the smaller boxes but the other lady knew there was different vouchers, did feel a bit strange handing over id for chocolate though lol

  • Hi all,

Just a quick question after reading the feedback on here I am ready to do battle with thorntons and have a very loud I'm dissatisfied etc argument for all customers to hear should I have problems (when on a mission I don't embarass easily) but I have a shop near me which is a card shop but stocks a large range of thorntons items. Has anyone tried to redeem at a similar location or will it have to be an actual thorntons shop? I only go into arguments I will will lol

No problems for me at Metrocentre but just got this email - although sa wasnt sure how to put vouchers through till was happy to hand over 2 to me and 2 to hubby

    Hello Melts Fans!
I'm contacting you directly as I can see that you have been lucky enough to win more than one box of our delicious Melts chocolates!
I trust that our store teams were happy to see you when you collected your prizes and that you didn't experience any problems. However, we've realised that the terms and conditions on the voucher may have made it difficult for you to collect more than one box. If you had any problems at all claiming your Melts, please send me an email with a few more details and I will be only too happy to follow up with the stores to get you the Melts that you deserve!
    Many thanks

Guess theyve had a lot of complaints
Happy with any wins this year :A
  • Just got that email too. I had no problems when collecting mine.

I has no problem handing in my voucher in but I wouldn't have the nerve to take two in let alone three, I would simply go back.

  • I went on Saturday to Thorntons in White Rose centre, picked a box of melts off the shelf, took them to the till with my voucher and she gave me one of those small boxes and said "that's £3.99 please" I said my voucher is for a 197g box and she said it wasn't it was only for a trial box. Well, after 20mins of her saying I can't collect them in store and I have to send the voucher to head office etc etc, there ended up being 5members of staff all fiddling with the till trying to deduct the amount and after all that, it turns out there was the free 197g melts offer option on the till the whole time.. grrr... oh well, I got them in the end. Thats good about the email though, at least other people won't have to beg for theirs.
    xx
