I only won one box and had no problems claiming it at the South Shields store today. I just said that I'd won a competition on facebook and was sent the voucher via email. She didn't ask for id either, just asked me to sign the bottom of the voucher. No problems at all, the lady was very nice about it. I even got my free treat egg with my voucher too x
    Smoke-free since 7/12/2011 :0)

I think the competition finished the other day. x

It's awful that people have won all these Chocolates and then are having to beg for their prize. I hope I don't have any problems getting mine later on today.

I have only had a minor problem; when one assistant gave my daughter the small freebie box, but I went back in and changed it.

I have won 5 boxes and have gone to the same shop with my daughter. They never asked for ID. I was ready with a response if they argued with me; 1) if you look at your voucher, bottom right hand side it shows the number of the competition you have won. 2) I was not going to make a special journey to pick up my prizes as I live some distance away so only went when I had something else to do. The vouchers say per person, per competition and therefore I see nothing wrong in claiming them all at once! The important part is per competition and as I said, details are on the voucher (which I have to admit I didn't see until today!!)

    :)

hello again, thanks to your advice yesterday, i went back in store today again and returned back the freebies and after they confirmed with the thornton customer service on the phone they gave me a 6 full 200g boxes ,now the prize is worth it ,my hand got tired from the weight 1200 g chocolate
i hope everyone solve the problem

  • Picked my box up with no probs yesterday. I only had one to claim though coz stopped entering once I 'd won one.

I just took a box of them off the shelf and handed them to the sales assistant with my winning voucher. She promptly processed it through the till and I noticed "Facebook" appear on the screen so they must have a special button to press.
Was also buying a couple of easter eggs so maybe that helped it go so smoothly rather than being made to feel like a thief!

They're very very yummy....in fact I've polished off the box all by myself already :o:o Wish I'd carried on entering now!!
  • i got my voucher but said it expired 19th! How unfair! I work during the week so by the time i had finished the shops were closed. This is a very unfair competition :(
Need a new start..wheres good to live in the UK?!

I think that people who have had problems should post details on Thorntons Facebook wall for all to see

Fortunately for me, I had no problems at all. I won 4 times, but only brought 3 vouchers with me, as I thought they wouldn't accepted 2 with the same end date. Anyway, the lady was lovely, and gave me 3 boxes after I showed her my ID. She even asked me how I was able to win it lol.
