Problems with redeeming Thorntons Melts vouchers

Firstly, thank you ever so much to Ruby for posting the competition.
Secondly, I'm curious as to everyone's experience when actually trying to redeem your vouchers. I won a couple of boxes and duly printed the vouchers out. When I presented them to the shop assistant, she informed me that she'd never heard/seen/known about the promotion and she'd have to check with her manager. So she went into the back and asked for advice. The manager's answer was I could only have one box.
When I questioned this, the shop assistant pointed out that the terms and conditions stated that it was one per person. To which I added that it then went on to say per voucher. So off she went to confirm it again with her manager.
Unbeknownst to me, the area manager was also in the back and he maintained that I could only have one box. However, the normal store manager then came out and said I could redeem one today and then come back tomorrow for the other..... Throughout this, I was made to feel rather dishonest, as if I'd somehow fraudulently produced the vouchers!
So guys, has anyone else had a similar experience? I basically would like to know:
a) Was it stupid of me to take both vouchers at once?
b) Could I have redeemed both at once?
c) Do the terms and conditions actually mean that you can literally only have one voucher per person?
d) Is it just me who thinks it's a bit bizarre to tell me I can only have one box, but come back tomorrow and you can have the other?!!!!
Thanks in advance for your help.

That was silly. My husband and I won 2 boxes each. At first the shop assistant told us the one box per person only but when the manager checked the vouchers she said its okay and they gave us 4 bozes in one go. I believe you should have claimed your chockies at once0

I don't think it was unreasonable of you to take both vouchers. It clearly states on them that you can have one box per person, per voucher. I take that to mean one box for each voucher - i.e. you can't print the voucher off more than once.
OH took one of my vouchers to our local Thorntons at the beginning of the week and 2 more today. He didn't have any problems and was congratulated on the wins, the assistant was genuinely pleased for us.
Maybe worth a call/email to their customer services.

I had a really bad experience at the Epsom branch, it was a trainee on and manager at luch. She was tellng me I could only have the tiny box (3 chocs) and not the 200g. I told her thats not what the voucher said and it was for the bigger box. I told her to scan the voucher, she did and it was declined. And then told her to call thortons direct, she wouldnt. She then told me to come back on 30 mins to talk to manager. So I did and manager looked and mine and bf vouchers and gave us the box after we showed id. I have won since then but TBH wont be going back to claim them at Epsom. And as tomoz is the last day to claim them doubt I will be going near another thorntons, as I heard that Kingston refused vouchers.
Anyone tried Sutton branch ????
Maybe we should make a list of what branches accepted, which didnt ??2015 Big wins: luxury 7 night holiday in sharm el sheikh, theatre tix, £123, IPad Air 16gb, Night in London hotel celebjuicetix :, Portable dvd playerT

Thank to all that have replied. I am going to contact customer services as it's rather embarrassing for those who have to argue their way into getting a prize. It's a shame not all branches are like the one EverDecreasingCircles went to!!!
My branch was Llandudno if anyone is thinking of going there.0 -
hello
we also had a poor exdperience today at the store a store in Norfolk, they did redeem 3 but only gave us the small box, when oh came home, and the whoe thing made oh feel like he was doing something he shouldn't - I did promptly call the store and explain, and firstly they said it was one per person, then I pointed out 1 per person PER VOUCHER I aslo explained there were 2 draws a day which you could enter and WIN, however when I explained that the whole manner in which may partner was served took the "edge off the win" she was apolgetic and said she would put 3 CORRECT size boxes aside, I said coudl she post them as we did not get into town often, at which point she said she would deliver them. - so good service eventually. I got the distinct impression that the stores did not realise about this promotion.June - Watch0 -

"Collected one pack the other day, no problems, won two more yesterday, went to collect, was tutted at, offered freebies instead of 200g box, then told that they were a card and gift shop really, although they have Thorntons as their Shop sign! Then told only one per person, pointed out that it was one per person per voucher, she then told me that they had been told one per person only, she then checked stock, none in! Ever felt guilty about winning a comp?"
I posted this earlier, they made me feel like I was trying to defraud them!2020: New Year, New Decade, New Adventures!!

My store was in Stevenage.
They said they'd had another winner in before OH went with my first voucher. They didn't ask for ID either.
