Another NSD managed yesterday and I also kept off the wine. Spent most of the day up and down to the tip and charity shops getting rid of the tat.
I did an inventory of the kitchen cupboards and freezer and there is no way I need to buy anything other than cleaning fluid and cat food (& perhaps a bit of wine) for a couple of weeksSo I'm going to try and not buy any food apart from basic bread, milk and veg/fruit until until I go on hols after Easter. I can't believe there was so much in there.
A long day of work and running around today so I shouldn't have time to spend anything. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
I can't believe another week has flown by already.
Yesterday was a rubbish day moneywise - had to get cakes for work as it was my b'day a couple weeks ago (I know, better late than never) and a few more bits. Typical story, left it really late to get it and then ended up spending loads as I didn't have time to shop around. So I'm pretty annoyed with myself really.
Hopefully today will be a bit better. I intend to sneak out without the boys as I need to get some odd bits in town later. Then tonight, I am actually going out with the girls. First time in ages and ages and I can't wait. Its only into the next village but it will be a bit of female company for a change!
Now, off to do the laundry, blitz the kitchen, hoover the car .... ... ...This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Hi Pen, glad to se the inverntory went well. Thats the problem when you are a famly is you have tons of leftover stuff etc I hope you can put it all do good use... But don't forget your wine
Have a great time tonight, let your hair down and relax :j  :j0 -
Cheers Pap.
Had to take DH to the shops with me but it wasn't too painful. He got the extra things he wanted out of his 'pocket money' and I only had to get cat food and some cotton to mend DS school trousers (yet again).
I've got my de-cluttering head back on now, so its off to raid my Tshirt and vests pile before I feel the need to waste money on new ones before the summer. I have plenty and there is simply no need to!
Its only just hit me properly the last couple of days that we've not got any wages from DH coming in at the moment and whilst we are not struggling completely its going to be a bit of a shock to the family without the things we can't afford. I'm just taking each week as it goes and trying not to think too far ahead as its too depressing. That's one of the reasons I'm off out with the girls tonight, for a little break from it all. Still, we are lucky, I still have jobs (both of which I love), we've a roof over our heads and we are well. It could be a lot worseThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.

After a brilliant night out which was much needed, we've had an easy-going, no spends day. Visited some friends this morning and then had family round this afternoon. Busyish but nice and social.
I squeezed in a bit of laundry and got the duvet covers etc dried on line but haven't managed any de-cluttering.
After much banging my head against a brick wall, DS and DH are finally getting their heads around using up the food in the cupboards etc before I buy anything else. So at the moment DH is boiling some eggs for supper (had a really late dinner). Which would of been seen as completely yuk and boring before but now they know there's nothing else - its amazing what they'll eat when they're hungry. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.

I've finished work now for Easter and we have our little holiday next week. So I should be feeling nice and jolly but to be honest I'm still stressed about the finances. Its stupid really because I can afford the basics if I'm careful but I'm so impatient I want to keep overpaying as much as possible. Oh well, until DH is back in employment I'll just have to grin and bear it.
Right then, back to the important stuff. Have most things ready for the holiday, just need to get a few fresh groceries (and wine) before we go and I've kept back a couple tesco vouchers for that. The ironing pile needs attacking or DS will be running out of clothes half way through.
We've been fairly MSE this week, although I did treat us to a really cheap digi cam for the hols (mostly paid for by Tesco vouchers). DS has wanted one for ages and I held off because I was trying to over pay debts as much as I could. But its not his fault we are in debt so I bought a cheap one which works really well suprising and hopefully that will keep him entertained.
Other than that life in Pen towers is as chaos as normal, the kittens are going mad because they don't want to go out in the bad weather so they are trashing my living room instead. Cheap evening entertainment!
Nearly forgot to add - the de-cluttering is still on going. I finished work early today so ransacked the cupboard where all the linen and towels are kept and have another couple bags to shift. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.

Nearly cried this morning, couldn't get the laptop to work - anyone would think the world had come to an end! But luckily it sorted itself out. How reliant have we become on the internet? Its scarey!
I had a lovely lie in this morning and have just done a proper cooked breakfast for us all (ok - its now lunch but the thought was there;)). Going to drag DS around a museum this afternoon I think, so should be a nice leisurely day.
I paid a load off the debt today as I'm going to give myself a break over the holiday. I refuse to log onto the bank everyday! Feel better about money as I still have some left for treats next week if we are sensible. Just need to find something to de-clutter now - or perhaps I might have to go and hunt down some hot cross buns instead. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Pen towers has been very chaotic today and a little bit tiresome. But its wine o'clock now and DS and I have just watched DR Who together, which was nice.
I did spend a little today, got a couple of tops in charity shop for the hols. Actually I was just hiding from some family that decided to camp outside the door when I got back from picking up DS from his friends this morning. Tops are lovely, and the family are lovely too but they are outstaying their welcome a bit at the moment and its become very awkward. Because I disappeared earlier they didn't really get the hint, and came back again later and stayed another couple of hours.
I love them dearly but its very hard work, they have lots of children who I'm expected to run round and cater for and they are round ours nearly every weekend afternoon. I don't want to hurt them, but its starting to intrude on our family time and I can't really afford it (food wise) either.
Anyway, enough whinging. Only a bit of money spent today, so not too bad. Busy day running around after DS and his grandparents tomorrow plus I still need to do some ironing for the holiday. No peace for the wicked! At least it will be a no-spend day as the shops are shut for Easter Sunday.
Enjoy your Easter Eggs everyoneChocolate rules!
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0
