I tried signing up for this opt-out last year, still hasn't worked as I still get unaddressed crap that the postie has to delivery because RM gets paid by some (imo) very selfish and stupid companies.0

I don't really mind the unaddressed stuff and take away menus etc, it just all goes in the recycling bin!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090

they do it because it lets them sell products
if nobody bought from them they wouldnt do it?0 -
custardy: I'll try the opt-out application again and see if it works this time, perhaps they didn't get my form0
-
well for me,it really doesnt bother me
i will let RM deliver D2D's for as long as posties get paid for it
as soon(if) they remove the payment i will opt out
hopefully a few million others will do the same0 -
If companies eg take away places want to waste money on junk mail then its up to them really, yes its annoying but it doesn't cost me anything to just stick it in the recycling box,0

Many thanks one and all,,
I applied for this so called Royal mail opt out scheme a couple of years ago, the upshot of it was that in each sorting office there is a sign displayed for the postman regarding this opt out scheme and once registered all none addressed junk mail, leaflets, ect will stop. My brother in law a postman said he has never seen this directive/sign, and that royal mail make a lot of money out of these deliveries so you will still get them.."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0 -
I have tired of asking companies like SAGA to take me off their distribution list and started putting all my junk mail into their return to sender envelopes.
Hopefully keeps the posties in a job?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
