  • I have a Natwest bank account and want to pay overpayments as above by setting up a standing order (flexible). How can I be sure that the overpayments I make will reduce the term and not the monthly payments.

    Thanks for reading,

When I rang the mortgage company (hallifax) to increase the standing order I told them I wanted to reduce the term and not the monthly payments. Good luck with it all:D

I think we've had a similar weekend Babysteps - i've been saving up crusts and blitzed them into breadcrumbs too. Also made some cookies using some chopped up fudge i got for xmas and have saved some smarties from my big tube to make more.

Have also made 6 meals (3 x bolognaise, 3 x shepherds pie) from some mince from the freezer. Isn't it great to use up leftovers that you'd chuck otherwise? I also agree we can all still be happy and enjoy life whilst being frugal at the same time. It just takes a bit of imagination at the beginning :)

re surveys - do you do Topcashback? If so you could try the Its Your View surveys on there (70p per survey). You can do as many as you want although some you will prob be screened out of. I did 3 this weekend but could have done more if i'd had the time.

Thanks for the advice regarding top cashback. I might have to look at that although don't know how much time I have to commit to another survey site.

The fudge cookies sound amazing. I have some smarties left from an xmas present so maybe I willl give it a go adding them to cookies. I now make more effort witht he leftovers to ensure I'm not throwing away food (and money:D).

Topcashback is a cashback site, same as Quidco. It just happens to have these surveys too that you can do as many times as you like ;)

Definitely worth signing up for as there may be cashback offers on there that isn't on Quidco. Let me know if you would like referring if I am allowed to ask..

Sorry for not getting back to you internat probelms this week. I'm already a member of top cashback so not sure if you will be able to refer me. I might look at the surveys though.

So I have to say despite the internet probems I am very impressed with sky. My router broke and i reported it Wednesday night and the new one arrived today so i'm back online:T:T

Despite this I still managed to get into spending trouble this week (before the internet went down:mad:). I decide to check out the groupon website (I would recommend it to anyone looking for good offers for buying stuff). Anyway groupon were doing this offer of 6 laser hair removal treatment for £99 reduced from £500. I have looked at this before and always been put ff by the price so I'm really please with the offer and excited to see if it works. So I'm looking at it as an investment. :rotfl:

In other news been out and about a lot but managed to keep the speniding down. Think I should have reduced the amount owed by about £300 this month so ot to bad.

I really need to look for a lodger, things are likely to get a bit more expensive from feb as my office is moving and I will need to catch the bus. Although petrol costs will go down this won't compensate for the increased cost of the bus as I will still need to run the car. I may also look at buying a bike and cycling to work. This will be done by the cycle to work scheme and will be an extra outgoing a month although if I do that I may cancel the gym membership if I can cycle 3 times a week then that will reduce the public transport costs.

I am away this weekend so may advertise the room when I get back and hope I can find somebody suitable. I will just have to see how it goes.

Well I advertised the room tonight AAGH. Now just wait and see if I cna find anyone like!!

I have no idea how long it will take me to cycle to work. At the moment I don't even own a bike to try it!! I can get one and all the kit throught the cycle to work scheme so I'm thinking of doing that. I think if I think about the money I will save I (from the gym membership & the bus fare) that I might just do it.:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm looking forward to the weekend. Just got to keep the spending down and then its pay do so I can actually see what I have achieved this month. As I said before its loooking at just over £300, I was hoping for nearer £500 but hey I'll take what I can after the sales shopping!!
