  • Well another quick update for you. I had an offer through the post for a 0% balance transfer from virgin onto my exisiting card. As I had nearly maxed out my 0% purchase card from barc card I was considering transferring part of the balance but the 5% handling fee was putting me off. So before I did it I thought I would try increasing my barc limit and (drum roll please)..............

I managed to increase the limit to £7000, so have a bit of extra 0% spending before I finish my stoozing spree. Overall I reckon I would have made a nice little bit of extra by earning interest on my savings instead. Easy money I say:beer:

  • Hi guys,

Well I have had even more good news this week. I applied for single persons council tax allowance and back dated it from November when the ex moved out, I wasn't sure how long they would back date it for and they have agreed so i got a £145 refund:j:j

I guess this proves its always worth trying your luck, and as I haven’t got motivated to sort a lodger out I thought I may as well just apply for the allowance.
In other news I finally got the TV licence renewal through, so the refund amount almost exactly covers the amount of that which is great. I’m not quite sure how I have done it this month but seem to have been pretty good with money. I have come in well under my food budget which has been a massive help. I think the Tesco vouchers that I had before xmas have finally made their money back!!
I have also managed to finally fill my ISA allowance for the year. The first time I have ever achieved this so I'm dead chuffed about that. I have also put aside an extra £100 ready for a holiday and £50 towards Christmas and gifts for later in the year.
So all in all a good month for me. Its nice to see things are finally paying off:D See the stats below.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Well done. Hard bit now is keeping the ball moving, but you are showing you can do it without a lodger too. Great news.
  • Hi guys,

Hope everyone is well. After the good performance last month I've had a bit of a slip with the shopping this month.:eek:

I have bought a few gifts ready for mothering Sunday & my mums birthday in April. It have also bought a birthday present for the ex, its his 30th and I felt like I should get him something so got him some golf lessons from a groupon offer.

I also had a bit of a food shop blow out at the begining of the month but should be able to get that back on track by the end of the month as I shouldn't need much more now.

I have managed tog et back into doing some surveys. I magaed to get a £2.25 on VO yesterday so that takes me over £10 mark so able to get a voucher from there. HAd a good day on onepoll as well and finally over the £20 mark. Halfway there!! I need to get back into Toluna as could do with another Debenhams voucher!!

Now off to catch up on everyones elses diaries:D

well done on your surveys. I have been slack this week after a good few weeks and redeems, I havent even bothered with bingoport which I always do. Toluna has been the only one I have definitely kept up with and am waiting for pts to clear to order my third voucher this year.

I need to get my mum something still as her birthday is April 1st so two pressies for one weekend :) Have had a look around but still no clue.
Are you still close to your ex now?
