  • Not read your diary for a few weeks, but sounds like the general pattern is you are being productive and heading in the right direction.

I hope you hear back about the lodger as she sounded perfect. Even if you have to drop the price a bit it will make life so much easier for you.

  • Still no potential lodgers around which is a bit of a shame. Have paid a load into savings this month and will try to keep the spending on the 0%CC down so this shows and I've already treated myself (out of my spends money I might add) to two lovely new work dresses from wallis. These were £35 for two reduceed from £95 in their sale. They are lovely as well and I tend to wear stuff like that a lot so I feel they were worth it.

Other than that not much mse news, been good with the weekly spends as a had paid for a cinema trip with a friend last year as she was skint so when we went on Wednesday she treated me which made a cheap fun night.

I am still on target to fill my ISA limit for this year which has been a big aim for me so as to try and maximise the amount of savings I have in tax free accounts as next year I should easily exceed the allowed amount so I have tried to do a bit of financial planning.

Hope evryone is well and will update after the weekend, I am planning on not drinking on saturday night to reduce the costs but we will see how this goes!!

  • Well just wanted to say I was a very good girl last night. I went out but didn't drink and drove so saved myself a fotune yet still had a fun night. That will hopefully mean I will manage to stick to this weeks budget as I have a lot of things going on next week so a cheap sat night worked out well.

My car is up for renewal soon so need to ahve a think about what I want to do with thet.

Hope everyone is well and having a lovely weekend. xx

  • Well guys you will be proud of me today, I turned down a trip to New York in February half term. As much as I would have loved to have gone I have been a couple of times in the last few years so have done all the sites and lets face It I don’t t really have any extra cash at the minute for shopping so I said no.:eek:

I am totally gutted as would have loved a fun holiday but I know for once in my life I’m making a sensible financial decision. TBH I personally think I was just dreading owning up to it on here, knowing I can’t really afford it at the minute:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So the nice holiday will have to wait till summer when I have saved up a bit of spare cash.

  • Hi guys,

Been a while since I checked in this month, but thats because for once I have nothing to confess or own up to:j:j:j

I'm having a really good month financially. I have stayed within budget on every area of my plan and even saved some in other areas. :D

Next month is all going to be change for me, new place of work and office location to deal with. Work are paying our travel expenses for the first 3 months so thats good and I'll be taking advantage of it!!:beer:

I have kinda bought a bike to reduce the cost of my commute and if I enjoy it I may even cancel the gym membership saving more money.:p I am doing this through the cycle to work scheme so it reduces the amount of tax I have to pay etc. I am actually really looking forward to getting started and doing some regular exercise.

Hope everyone is well, only one more week to payday for me and then I can report on this months progress.:T:T:T

  • Thanks pammy, see I am getting better at thinking before I spend. As for the cycling to work thing we will just have to see how it goes but I have a feeling I might really start enjoying it and just think of the water/elec I will save showering in work!!
