Kwik Fit - What Can I do

Your ignoring the point i'm trying to make with the information provided from the OP.
In your opinion are 4 studs likely to suddenly fail on a normal car driving in a straight line?
I am ignoring nothing, the OP stated what occurred and you replied there is no way that happened, and then proceeded to berated my clear explanation of how it could and does happen then, I covered this in at least 3 posts, with both the theory and examples of real life accidents, and if its still unclear for you I really am at a loss.0 -
I'm having difficulties understanding what KF did here - you say they took a wheel off but then had to put it back on because the locking wheelnut key was missing?
Not clear either why the brakes would fail unless KF have been fiddling with them, which would presumably have required the locking wheelnut key to take the wheels off.
I was puzzling over that too, maybe they forgot to tighten the other 3, eventually the 4th would have loosened.
Every chance the rear brake pipe would have come into contact with either the wheel or the road hence loss of most braking ???? But I sumise
Love these KF threadsI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Do you understand metal can never become plastic?
Gord, haven't noted the context of your comment but to be clear, plastic is a state or condition of a material, not neccessary a material itself.
Metal does become "plastic" in that sence, just before it melts and becomes a fluid,;)

Totally irrelevant but point of fact :rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Almost,
It becomes plastic when it passes its yield point (Such as when over torqued) and just before it snaps, so kinda very relevant.0 -
You're wasting your time with these mate, they know everything, have done and seen everything, and whilst most of them haven't got a clue they search google to back up the rubbish they spout.;)I agree that could happen.however, the suggestion is that all 4 could suddenly shear on a motorway.0 -
i had a simular problem with a wheel but i had notice of the problem. you could feel a wooble and noise from the wheel. I just stoped and tightened the wheel nuts up. Quick fit would normaly use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts to the correct torque, was this done? . I did my training at Quick Fit . intresting experience:rotfl:.0

You may want to elaborate on who "these" are, "mate":(I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Could the OP not let their insurance deal with it and have them recoup the funds from kwikfit/their insurers who have already admitted liability?0

You suggested a possibility and i suggested the odds......neither of which are facts about what actually happened.Kurtis_Blue wrote: »I am ignoring nothing, the OP stated what occurred and you replied there is no way that happened, and then proceeded to berated my clear explanation of how it could and does happen then, I covered this in at least 3 posts, with both the theory and examples of real life accidents, and if its still unclear for you I really am at a loss.
