I am at a loss to understand this neutral feedback

Anyways, i dont know if this has been said but maybe she didnt like it and thats why it was ok?
Its quite possible she was happy to keep the item but it was not quite as they expected so thought no point contacting the seller as there is nothing to sort out.
OP just respond in a calm (no capitals or ranting) way and say the item was as described and move on. A few more sales and it will be a distant memory. I neg or neutral doesn't put buyers off its when you get a few and your DSRs are dodgy that sales can be affected0 -

I wish it were just a matter of a few more sales but that 1 in the neutral box is going to sit there for a whole year, taunting me
I did wonder if she just didn't like it but that's no reason to leave a neutral for someone. She has a score of 130 so she's not new at this.
I responded in my feedback about being sorry she wasn't pleased and that she could have contacted me to sort it out.
I would like her to reply to my email but I don't think she will.
I also don't see why recycled packaging should put people off, it was perfectly respectable and it means she didn't get charged for it. I got lots of stuff in all manner of packets, even tesco carrier bags and they still charge but I just mark down their stars - not for the bag but for charging for it - and go elsewhere the next time- the way you would if you were shopping on the high street.0 -

My 4.8 is for postage costs too Norma, and like you I only charge the actual postal charge. A fair few times they actually get it cheaper depends what kind of mood I'm in when I'm listing. I'm convinced that just they think its expensive without checking what they paid as though its our fault what the Royal Mail charges.
I do the same, charge only for the postage and very rarely for the packaging. I never make money on p&p and often lose out, but I get marked down. It's like they think that the post office price's are unfair, and mark you down because of that, not actually thinking that you have no control over it.0 -

give her a chance, it's not even been 24hrs since you emailed her.
Why do people get so worked up about ebay feedback, it's a pile of pooh since they changed the rules.0 -

I didn't mean because she hadn't replied yet, just that I really don't think she will at all. If she was at all inclined to do so she would have contacted me in the first place.
As for getting 'worked up' about feedback it can be quite hurtful, its easy to say it doesn't matter but when you have gone out of your way to supply a good service its not nice to have it thrown back in your face. That neutral feedback will be there for the next year reminding me that someone was unhappy with that service but not WHY.
If there was a way to improve things, I'd rather be given the chance to do so, tell me what was wrong with the item or my communication or delivery, whatever, not just sneakily mark me down with an OK comment. There is absolutely nothing I can do with that.0 -

Sorry I was writing it really quick while doing something else - sorry if I 'really annoyed' you. You must get really annoyed easily!
People do make mistakes, we can't all be perfect!
I will edit the post so you don't get really annoyed every time you read it. I don't want any burst blood vessels :rotfl:My daughters are my world0 -
When you get a neutral, it isn't bad. It doesn;t register as bad.Oh course, I didn't say that at all. The person was leaving neutral if the seller was okay, as in good, but not amazing. That's wrong. If you get your item as described, in a reasonable amount of time - that shouldn't be a neutral, should it?
It doesn't make your score go down or lower anything else.
Neutral just means that you weren't overjoyed nor were you annoyed.0 -
Where do you get this idea from that a neutral is bad or that it means she wasn't happy?fridayschild wrote: »I didn't mean because she hadn't replied yet, just that I really don't think she will at all. If she was at all inclined to do so she would have contacted me in the first place.

You really need to think about how you are harming yourself with this nonasense.
She was obviously ok with the sale as she said so. And a neutral doesnt affect your score.
Good grief.0 -
Who's the P**t??
She said Neutral, not Negative.
You do know that a Neutral isn't a Negative Don't you?
Yes, I'm aware. Neutrals still aren't classed as good by eBay. They may not make your score go down, but people still generally see it as bad, but not quite bad enough to be a negative.
I'd be unhappy if I'd got a neutral without an email first, for me to put the issue right.
I assume you people saying neutrals are fine would all be happy to get one? Well, you carry on with that, and I'll carry on still thinking it's not a good thing to give one."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0
