    Flipping NIGHTMARE!!!

My phone line died on Thursday night. I reported it and was told "oh, it's a problem at the exchange - we'll sort it in 24 hours."

    Did they? NO!

It's finally been sorted out this morning. I've been deprived of MSE all weekend and had to find something else to do.

How to have a DFW weekend? Well, I went to the library and borrowed as many videos, CDs and books as I could carry. My mind is now broadened, thanks to Eddie Izzard, Monty Python, Suede and Lynne Truss. But wow! have I missed you guys!

So the vile mood continues. Not helped, may I add, by an update at the gym (because my programme was too easy and now it's too hard and I can't do it and my knees hurt now) AND because I was smugly congratulating myself on having more money in my bank account than I thought this weekend and then remembered this morning that I had, in fact, forgotten to pay the rent.

So glad I've been too depressed to go shopping and so I didn't actually spend the rent money. But I now have £150 to last me until until 25 September. Hoo flaming rah.

Post your lentil recipes below, if you please.

Today's dilemma - if going to the gym, should one wash one's hair before going if one's hair looks a mess knowing one will have to do it again later?

    Hi Minne

Fairly new around these parts but you should deffo wash hair before going to gym 'cos if you don't it is 100% definite that your future 'Mr Minnie Spender' will waltz in looking all hot and beefy and you'll be hiding in the corner thinking "why didn't I wash my hair before going to the gym :wall:

Thank you debbycatz - I did indeed wash my hair and even took the trouble to make sure my fringe was looking ship-shape. Upon arrival at the gym, however, no sign of any future "Mr MinnieSpender" - just the usual suspects, including the strange muscle-bound one who thinks he knows me.

Just for the record, he does not.

Never mind - Ray Liotta is ont telly right now and that's enough to cheer the most frustrated of spinsters.

EDIT: Aha! RAY Liotta! FREEBIRD!! Where are you, mate? I've got another Ray for the collection! Yahooooooo!

Hair, nails, make-up ... I was almost ready for my close-up!

Shame it all got spoilt by leaping around on the treadmill, bike and fake-ski jump.

With only weirdo-boy to appreciate my efforts.

    Ho, hum.

But deeply glad that there t'internet is back. I'm so lost without it. In fact, it alerted me to the lack of rent payment (how do you "forget" to pay your rent??? :wall:). Phew, I say.
