Wilkinson's have also reduced their batteries to 49p in response to Superdrug would imagine.0

The reason for this offer is to clear stocks to make way for a new range, i.e.e the same but with new packaging, it's the same as recently on VO5 hair range, all went to 49p for repackaging. It's a very weired attitude to 'hide' the offer - all this means is when the range comes off planogram in November, the store will have a load of packs of batteries they have to keep in the warehouse forever, taking up space. Very odd. Savers is Superdrug with less range but lower prices. What is interesting for me is that people perceive both as value retailers, but the margins are enormous and both are more successful than boots in terms of growing profits. I have learned that there is rarely such a thing as a bargain - these batteries are one, but not much else I can think of. Certainly not BOGOF offers, or HALF PRICE deals! These are little short of a scam!0

My understanding is the price will not go back up, despite the 'one week only' poster ads - it certainly didn't end today, that's for sure. How long stocks will last though is anyone's guess0

I went in today and got lots... the packets of 8 AA were priced at 1.49 and the packets of 4 at 49p so I took a packet of 8 to the till which scanned at 49p so I put all my packets of 4 back and now have enough AA's to last me a few years.also used the 10% off voucher.0
