thanks to OP just spent £13.23 on batteries less 10% voucher grand total of £11.91 for 27 packs -bargin

Know they will not be as good as Duracell but at that price Im not complaining. Got D & C & AAA & AAs found in a wire square basket - but the ones on the wall displays are also this price regardless of what it says on the ticket. ( I took some off display to make sure )

The packets are black & orange say - Superdrug Longer life alkaline batteries
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T

Went to Superdrug especially to get some batteries, and they were still all marked at full price. Almost left it:eek: but decided to take a packet through the till (nightmare queue) and it went through at 49p so went back and bought loads! Used the 10% coupon too, so got some postage stamps while I was at it - well, stamps are always useful:p . Thanks a lot to Superboy!:A

  • I have just been in Buxton Superdrug and sure enough these batteries were all marked up at 49p. Then noticed that they had still left up the B.O.G.O.F. signage, which was obviously for the previous offer - this signage stated that the batteries were on B.O.G.O.F. til 8/8/06. So I was wondering if they would go thru' the till at 49p per pack and B.O.G.O.F. They didn't!! So, being cheeky mare I asked to see someone, hoping they would agree they should have taken the signs down and honouring the B.O.G.O.F. Not a chance! Snotty manageress informed me that 49p was a simply ridiculous price and I should be pleased with that. I pointed out they should have taken the old POS down, but frankly was 'banging my head against a brick wall'. She finally told me I could have a refund if I felt so aggreived. I know I was being cheeky, but can't help feeling slightly miffed still!!! Anyone else had this?

Now this sort of thing annoys me, the POS clearly states £2.99 for two packs, 49p is a very good deal and you are trying to take the mickey! I would have changed the price to £2.99 for two packs and made you pay this and refused the 49p price after that, then I would have banned you from the store for life.

They're Superdrug's own Alkaline batteries in all sizes. Even the 8pack AA size were 49p.

Plus another 10% off with coupon :)

    Thanks to the OP.

ooohhhhh didnt see the 8 pack AA, ok I didnt look properly, I was so pleased with the ones I got but a top tip davemuk

Superboy123 your post implys they are good (what a bonus) - just put them in a battery lantern so Ill give it a try this weekend - Ill also try them in digital camera cos that eats them for breakfast, dinner & tea when you have the screen on.

Rang Hubby at work and he rang me back cos the lads at work couldnt believe the price - had to read out the sizes and describe them while on speaker phone - got a feeling Buxton superdrug will be busy tomorrow lol

I didn't see the 8 pack of AA neither, may need another visit !!
  • worth noting that Savers ( owned by Superdrug) sell ... all the time .....their own range of alkalines at 59p to 79p

I did say I had been cheeky! The last time batteries in Superdrug were on offer they still went through on the previous BOGOF offer, so I simply thought it was worth seeing if they went through the till. Having suffered similar sorts of complaints and threats of being reported to Trading Standards for incorrect POS whilst I was a Customer Service Manager at Tesco, I feel it's time to do the same as a consumer! Strictly speaking they are in the wrong (there was no obvious 2 for £2.99 indication on the POS I saw - must have been smaller writing!) and that is the way that Trading Standards would see it - plus they'd fine them for every piece of fallacious POS...so there you have it - I hadn't actually done anything wrong and at the end of the day I left the store without too much complaint and accepted what she told me - I'm a reasonable person (unlike yourself - banning people for pointing out legitimate mistakes!!??)...:rotfl:

    Thanks for the tip off
