They're almost always on BOGOF, the price is artificially high to compensate. Don't be fooled! There's a far better buy - 12 Duracell Plus AAs £2.99

Yes, it's definately on! There are large posters on the shop windows advertising the weekly deals which includes the .49p batteries. Many thanks to OP.

Just been to Superdrug and can confirm that all Superdrug batteries are 49p per pack. Just bought a whole range of AAA, AA and D size batteries. This should last me till next year.
