While I agree with the majority that comet's offer to repair or replace was reasonable, I think the threat to call the police wants raising in a letter to head office.

I wouldn't want to hand back a computer I'd had for 7 months. They might unearth some real gems on there!

if someone refused to leave the property and for all we know he could have been repeatedly hassling the staff for a refund then how else do you suggest they remove him?

There was a old couple the other week who protested outside Comet until the manager finally buckled and replaced their laptop.

And, they claim, when they took it back to the store after four weeks, staff said that it was a problem for the manufacturer.

Seems like the standard spiel from this lot!

Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"? :T

    I've no idea.

But I'm guessing the phrase was made up by a customer who was clearly in the wrong.

and not by threatening to call the police as in this case. :rotfl:

I have had problems with Comet as well. Bought their extended warranty on a TV which went wrong. After about 10 service calls to my home, almost every component replaced, they said it was working OK and there was nothing wrong with it. They had my TV away for over 3 weeks at a time when it went to their service centre. They didn’t regard this as a significant inconvenience. The c/s agents tell lies, this and that has been replaced, only when the paper work was received back with the TV I then found out it was something else that had been changed.

I'm off to John Lewis next time for any white goods.

    You're loss Comet...

So basically the phrase came about from knowing the customer isn't always right! :rotfl:

The comments of what people thought of the person who made the video are amusing, I can't actually repeat them on here, they'll just come up as !!!!'s :rotfl:

I always find the "poor customer service" mob bring it on themselves. I just don't get how everything I buy never breaks, how I never have any problems when buying stuff whilst some people just seem to have that happen all the time. I'm sure it's their attitude must attract bad luck or something, how else do they manage it?
