He did the Who is Dave Gorman stuff with Dave Gorman, then wrote a couple of wacky books on funny 'boy' projects called 'Join Me' and 'Yes Man' and recently had a BBC2 series trying to start his own country.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread Lynz - hope you are sleeping and things are looking more cheery tomorrow

Just to let you know - about five years ago me and my friend (weirdly tho maybe not - they are quite common) both had abnormal smears showing "pre-cancerous" cells within a couple of months of each other. We both had minor ops to have the cells removed - and had to have annual smear tests for three years after. Neither of us have had any re-occurrence. I don't want to belittle your fears - but you may well find that it is not as bad as you think... hope it works out. Incidentally try not to research the internet - it will scare you silly, and a lot of it is unfounded and irrelevant to you. Take it easy and try not to stress, tho easier said than done I know. Sometimes life just seems intent on throwing a load of pooh, other times its plain sailing. Strange. As an above post said though - maybe you've had your share of bad stuff and things will start to get better for you? If you can't afford a holiday, how about you and your OH just going away for a quiet weekend somewhere - maybe a BandB. If you can scrape the money to do so it would do you good - even a weekend in a youth hostel? They are pretty cheap and you could go local -ish to keep the cost down. Hope things get better for you.

Lynz, I want to add to all the well wishers. Youj ust do not deserve all this bad luck and its about time you got a break. I suppose your lodger going is a cause of celebration. I agree with everyone who has mentioned the smear test; it could well be a false alarm but even if not you have to remember that it is only pre-cancerous and cervical cancer is one of the few completely curable cancers. It is usually caused by the papilloma virus which is usually caught from a partner. Thats what I've read. Please dont panic. I know its easy for me to say but ive got my fingers crossed for you. You have had such crappy luck lately. It is a very low time of your life and things must look up soon by the law of averages. I know you are very bored because youve got such an active mind and you feel frustrated and like screaming. Couldnt you go home to your folks for a couple of days for a break? I think this hot weather is going to break at the weekend but if you are still on that stuff that gives you menopausal symptoms i think maybe you should come off it as its not doing you any good. i know its easy for me to say and the alternative is probably pain but it sounds like a very unnatural thing to have all those hormones pumping through your body and making you more ill than you actually are. Im sorry im going on but like everyone I really wish i could help you and hate to hear you so unhappy and frustrated. It sounds like you are on a very healthy diet so it must be the hormone treatment making you so ill in the heat. Have you thought of having your tubes stretched. I dont know if they still do it but they used to. It sounds like your lodger caused you a lot of stress so now shes gone you will probably feel a lot more relaxed. Cant believe your life has gone so wrong in so short a time. Hope you are feeling better. Love and hugs. Tes xxx

moring ann thank you to you all. :)

I am feeling somewhat brighter today, but I dont know how long it will last  I got up double early due to pain and heat ( anyone wanna do a flat swap, we are off the scale on our thermometer here already!) altohugh there does look like there might be a bit of rain in the air, so Im hoping that will clear things up a bit.

I really dont know what to do today. I feel the need to go shopping, although, I dont really need anything, and in all fairness Im BORED. I know OH will go in a bad mood when he surfaces. He cant take being bored as easily as I can, I mean I can just chat on here, or mooch about putting washing on and pottering, but he cant do it. But then Im at the end of my tethr already.

Lodger hasnt gone yet. This is also winding me up.

Wonder what bad news we will get today
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
