newish housing estate private car park problems with kids

I live in a newish housing estate that backs onto a secure car park, which I keep my car in and pay fees each year for it. The problem I had last year was young kids about 8 9 years old playing around my car, they used to pay ball games but the company who own the car park have now put NO BALL GAMES signs up, they no longer kick a ball around. The problem I am having now is they seem to pay with their toy guns etc around the cars and its driving me mad, the parents dont watch them cause they probabaly think its secure. I had a massive row with 2 of the parents last year, one of them no longer lets there kids near my car and does watch them (2 kids).
My partner says I am over reacting as my car has never been damaged. In a car park near by a kid got hit, and i suppose thats on my mind too, when I drive in and out of the car park.

There is nothing I can do as they pay to keep their cars in there too.
Should I be worried? anyone else have this problem?

thanks

Blow me down, parents still let their kids play with toy guns, do they...? I would have though, in these politically-correct times....

You could always try a 999 call, tell the police 'someone' is brandishing guns near your house - hopefully they'll send the full firearms response team, and after that, I doubt any of the kids will be playing with their toy guns.....

(Can I take my tongue out of my cheek now? It's beginning to ache....)

When I used to live in Peckham, the kids got their own guns without their parents permission.

thanks for all of that. Made me laugh.
My main concern is my car being damaged and the fact they play in there toy guns was an example.
Its a car park not a play ground

You could set your alarm off remotely when they get near it. After a while they'll either learn how to remove the wheels off it or stop playing near it.

Most people would have been told by their parents not to play near cars and to avoid damaging other people's property.

They're very expensive things and scratches are not "oh well nevermind" ...

Thank you you are right they arent cheap
  • There have been some really negative things said towards you but I can sympathise! It would annoy me too. I would speak to the kids myself (Well I'd ask my OH to hahah) and explain it's dangerous and ask them to play near THEIR parents' homes! I'd also tell them I;d call the police if I saw them there again.
