Hi peeps
beautiful and sunny here today so i`m off out into the garden shortly to take advantage of the weather.
I never managed to get back online yesterday so i`ve just spent a few minutes catching up. We had visitors for much of the day and then DH and i whizzed through the whole house and its now as clean as a new pin
Afterwards we went out and bought the new sink and taps for the kitchen so there`s only the cabinet door handles and the worktops to sort now. I seem to have looked at loads of worktops and can`t find any that i`m really happy with. I shall just have to keep on looking. The taps were smashing and a very good price so i`m really pleased with them.
This morning i walked the houndies and had a natter with my friend who i`ve not seen for a couple of weeks and then i came home and did the bit of ironing that i can`t get away with not doing IYKWIM.
Offski to Asda afterwards and then to the diy place to buy a saw. I`m hoping that i`ve got enough wood to make a large raised bed at the bottom of the garden using the wood that we took out of the kitchen when we raised the ceiling, its all really good quality timber so fingers crossed there.
Donny Gal - Loved your post yesterday :rotfl:
Sunnygirl - Do the sandwiches freeze well with mayo? is it still the same consitency when its defrosted? We love tuna onion & mayo sandwiches here but have always thought that they wouldn`t freeze well.
I`m off to put on my boots and get digging/sawing
Have a fab afternoon peeps

Just had to pop back to say that I called the doggy day-care people to enrol puppy-dog, and he has to go to an induction. I have visions of me at the doggy day-care gates with his little back pack and being judged for arriving five minutes late. I am definately NOT going to be a yummy mummy...Grocery Challenge 2010:

Afternoon all,
Have been absolutely rushed off my feet this morning and it doesn't look like I'm going to get much in the way of a let up this afternoon either!!!
Just to let you all know, DH has discovered today that he has been accepted by the Public Carriage Office and can finally start his training to become a cabbie and get out of his horrible job!!! :j Bless him he feels like he's finally on the home straight (despite the fact that his training will take him a year at least
).
Could this be the start of things going right for us?!?!? Fingers crossed please all!

Hi again
Thanks for the good wishes, the meeting with the vicar went fine, the hosp appointment was for a small lump on my forehead close to the hair line, (hidden by my fringe) which was though to be a cyst but ended as a bony lump, after now seeing 4 consultants, saw the one I should have seen first, and after discussing it with him, decided to leave well alone. It has been there about 20 years, and to remove it will leave a 2.5cm scar, and will have to be removed via general anaesthetic:eek: as they need to chip & chisel to bone away:eek::eek::eek: After careful consideration (for at least 2 seconds) and confirming it was not a risk to health, politely declined. I thought it a waste, it would leave a scar, so would still need the fringe, and I would put myself at risk of infection by having it done, and I don't handle general's very well.
Managed to fit in a quick trip to the local beauty shop for a pedicure without polish and my eyebrows trimmed, while DH stayed home to await the deivery of some lagging which we had ordered before we went away (when it was on offer), but delayed delivery. Called at the Co-op as needed some fresh food, but was probably one of my dearest shops for some time, even though I mainly stuck to offers.
Pen-Pin - has anyone been in touch recently to see if she ended up going into hospital as was feared??

Hi All!
Well, work went OK. Big chief resonded to my email last night 3 hours after I sent it, so am very impressed! I like a man who does what it says on the tin! He passed it onto the person in charge of the department whose policy I was unhappy with, and one of their senior managers called me this morning. I think he was expecting a wee mousy woman who would take all his airs and graces and be backed down into a corner with his explainations, but I had all my arguments ready, and and statistics to back me up. I would say I definitely had the upper hand in the conversation, and although it makes no difference on this occasion, hopefully my point will be accepted, and make a difference in future. I feel proud of myself for sticking up for what I think is right and fair, not just for me, but for everyone else in the same position.
esmf hugs for your MIL. Lowesy well done to OH it's about time you got something to cheer about!
Taplady and Donny, Pen Pin hasn't been on since the end of Feb, I had a pm with her the day before, she was still away, and going to the hospital at the start of March to find out how long her stay would be, that's two weeks now, hope she's OK, she did seem pretty exhausted before she went offline, didn't she. If you're lurking for some reason, Pen Pin have a hug from me.

Afternoon All
Had a pottering kind of day today and I always seem to get quite a lot done. Meter reading today:eek: so that means the bill will be here next week .... I am really dreading it  what with that and MOT on Friday and water bill in and council extortion fee due in as well we will be totally wiped out .........I hate March and April
Lowsey ..Good news about DH :j
Jackieglasgow .....I hope you didn't get to much grief at work today. But well done you for sticking up for your principles :T Companies are trampling over staff these days because they know they can get away with it because people are scared of losing their jobs.
Donnygal........I wouldn't have it done either ....I am dreading the day I have to go and have my knees replaced......and even worse I will be in hospital for two weeks  So while I can cope with the pain and have my little scooter I am happy to wait.
Oh well offski to get my pasties done (using the left over curry from last night, which was way tasty so they should be nice)
Take care all and I will catch up later xxxxBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
