    Morning All ,

A very quick hello and hope everyone is well as I have mountains of work to do today  It will never cease to amaze me how a large percentage of the higher ups are complete imbeciles... Mind you with all the stress they get they must be stupid to take on that kind of job in the first place.

OS wise, tea tonight is going to be cod and chorizo baked in a tomato sauce served with jacket potatoes and salad. Managed to get all my ironing done last night so tonight should be a nice easy evening.

Will pop back in later when I get the chance, hugs for now xx

Morning all.................((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) if you need one.....

Dull morning and much colder than yesterday. Quilting this afternoon, not that I am full of eager antisipation.....I find the Tuesday group very hard going. Last week I sat opposite a woman called Angela who never spoke at all..........in fact she studiously ignored me even when I spoke to her, so shes off the favourite list.

We had our renewal for the house insurance yesterday, £63 so I paid it quick before they changed their mind. It has never been that cheap before but I did get 25% NCD. It was a lot cheaper than I had budgetted for.

I put £50 a month in a savings account to cover, house and car insurance, car tax (£35) and servicing. We have breakdown cover through the bank account. Once I have paid off my overdraft I am going to down grade the account to a basic one and we will take our breakdown cover from CSMA along with a mechanical warrenty once the car is 3 years old (June 2011).

Our landlord does not miss a trick, we had a chap come last night to see about putting in a small multi fuel stove and getting rid of the truely awful fireplace. Just after he had gone K turned up and during the course of conversation asked if we were thinking of changing the fire....if so he was quite happy for us to do so.........little does he know I am going to land him with at least half the bill, after all it will improve his property and I doubt if we ever move we will be able to take it with us!!WoodBurner-3.jpg

Think this should be a picture of the offending object. The wood burner is great but it was designed to heat the central heating for the whole house, I only light a small fire in it and we have to sit with the door open, its output is around 20kw and we really only need 5kw. also it stands proud of the firepace so takes about 4 foot off the room. We will see what we will see........I have seen several small ones I like, but the quote we got last night made your hair curl!!! almost £3000 and we have to fit a new carpet. K will not pay for that....no way.

HM quiche and salad tonight, better go and get on with it, OH likes it cold......he has just been out says its damp.......

    :wave:Good morning you OS lovelies!

The sun is shining and I have my short sleeve shirt on at work today :jSpring is on the way!!! :D

Not very much going on with me at the moment, OS or otherwise, as this weekend I took some time out to sit on my rather large behind and do very little!! :p;) I'd had a rotten headache since Friday, so I thought as much rest as necessary was the best option :p The house looks like a minor explosion has taken place, but I'm not stressing over it, it'll work itself through one way or another. I got very spoiled for Mother's Day which was lovely - DD woke me up with a bowl of cereal at 7.05am :rotfl:bless her!! And I got flowers and some yummy chocs too.

Last night we realised that the first of DD's little seedlings were coming through - she's been so attentive with them spraying them every day if they are dry - never before has a child been so excited about Brussel Sprouts!! :T:T

Bitsy Did I see it was your bday the other day (I was on a flying visit!) If so, happy belated birthday to you honey!
Diva Positive thoughts heading Tris' way
N9eav fingers crossed for your daughter!
Donnygal hope the meeting goes well today.
ESMF sounds like you have loads going on, sending some positive thoughts your way too x

Hugs and positive thoughts to anybody else who needs them that I may have missed! x

Lunch today is chicken and coleslaw sandwiches (not strictly OS, but I've been bringing a loaf and the meat at the beginning of the week and making them at work as I need them). Dinner is HM beef and onion pie, made by DH. Yummy! The WM was on this morning when I left and the next load is on standby waiting for when I get home.

Hope everybody has a good Tuesday!

lowesy, that meal sounds lovely - do you have a recipe, or do you sort of make it up? I'd love to try it and might even manage to coax DH to try some even though he doesn't like fish - he was put off it when a child as the fish they ate at home was always full of bones.

Donny-gal - I gather you have lost your Dad while I've been away. So sorry, hon. Hope all goes ok today. x

esmf - Sorry about your MIL x It sounds as if you have enough other stress already.

I thought of Penny_Pincher a lot while we were away. What was the last news of her? I hope she's ok.

candygirl - Have you seen the doc in case you need antibiotics? I got cystitis a lot when i was younger, but thankfully i seemed to grow out of it.

Ivyleaf - I don't have a recipe as such so I'll just tell you what I do:

I chop up half a pack of chorizo, a clove or two of garlic, and a chilli (I use the little Indian finger chillies but we like it hot! You can leave this out totally if you prefer). Fry the chorizo until the oil starts to seep out a bit then add the garlic. Add half a tin of tomatoes (you can add a whole tin, but I found this made more sauce than I had fish IYSWIM!) and let it bubble away for a bit. Taste, add seasoning, sometimes you might want a bit more paprika. Pop the fish in an overproof dish and then pour the sauce over top and cook in the oven, shouldn't take long. You can always try and poach the fish in the sauce, but you don't want to boil it because of the tomatoes and I'm too impatient to wait so it goes in the oven :D

My DH hates bones too but he loves this meal - says it reminds him of Spain. :)

    xx

    Hi Chums,
did the school run o.k. and thought I'll just nip down to Sainsbobs to see if they have some speakers for my 'puter as my other ones have had it .Well I did rather well, there were a nice pair at £19.99 which were Samsung so I thought right I'll use my nectar points for them.I usually save them up for a while as I don't get many and when the speakers went through the till they were only coming up at £13.32 for some reason I checked with the lady on the till and she said yes if thats what the till says then thats what you get them at so with my nectar points deducted I got a smashing set of speakers for 82p,bargain of the week for me I think. So I'm feeling rather pleased at the moment .
I have made my trifle for tomorrow, and am just going to sort out the ironing and get it put away.I stuck a wash load on of dressing gown and odds and ends as its such a glorious drying day and I want to make the most of it,rain is forecast tomorrow.Right off I go again to do some more housework ,the sun certainly brings out the spring cleaning feeling in one doesn't it.
    Cheers Chums

OH got his new car yesterday, can't stop going on about it. What is it with boys and their toys?:D

Going swimming in an hour with a friend from work. Sun is shining too. Have lost 5lb in weight since last week. Hard, but I'm trying!:T

    Morning

Lovely sunny morning here, windows open to blow away the cobwebs :rotfl:

Doggies are restless today, keep wanting to go out for walkies in the sunshine, who can blame them? Going to put hoover round in a mo, the sun shows up all the dog hairs.

Dont know what to have for tea tonight, was going to get pork chops out of the freezer, but really fancy a salad. Only problem is we finished it up an Sunday. Oh well, a walk to the village shops then, hopefully I wont spend too much.

MSD - thinking of Tris and sending positive vibes his way

candygirl - Glad you're feeling better. I had really bad cystitis about 20 years ago and went to the doctor who gave me antibiotics. Trouble is, I then found out I was allergic to the antibiotics!!! Felt so ill, cured the cystitis though :)

Enjoy the good weather everyone, forecast for the next few days is wet n windy!! On that happy note I'll leave you :rotfl::rotfl:
