Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

    Kind wishes
    P

Have moved sufficiently to top up with a hot cross bun and a piece of fruit, chocolates still unopened but that will soon change.

:D Yup Niddy, the southernbelle thing. Who, as the belle bit in her name might suggest, is female :D She just likes to confuse people ;).

The pub was great fun - but since I became such a great debt-buster, I've also become a huge light-weight! So I have been suffering! And mentally noting not to do that again :p:rotfl:

BUMP as getting near the bottom of the page

Not been out today as planned as DH not too well - at least that help my No Spending Days :D

I though I had loaded my printer onto new laptop but had problems today - even with the disk it will not load - it is an old colour laser I got from DH's works when they closed down and I was using it until supplies ran out as it came with a few replacement cartridges but it seems that it will not load to Windows 7 - I have done a bit searching on the net but nothing seems to be working  that has really messed up my day :(

Hope everyone is not too bloated with all that food and chocolate today and if you are it serves you right - says she with her halo showing :A

Thanks Nargle - surprising how much carp I can talk :rotfl:. Hope you enjoyed the choccies:).

3Dogs - pain about the printer - we've got an old printer with loads of supplies but can't find the disk to load it onto the new pc:mad::mad:. Someone on the tecchie board might be able to help you find a way around your problem - they're pretty good on there. Hope OH is feeling better. Well done for resisting all the chocolate today, not surprised your halo is showing:)

nicca - glad you enjoyed the night out - surprising how quickly one gets out of the habit of drinking regularly..

Hi niddy - pleased to see you are still behaving yourself:D

I had that problem with Windows 7. It turns out I had loaded my printer on twice and given it a different name, only one of which would work. And the one that worked wasn't set as default. It took me three months to work that out, and it just came to me one night when I was watching telly!

So maybe try that first :D.

Thanks for the tips about the printer Nic & Spoon - it did load but not as a printer !!! It is shown under devices in it's own section as 'unidentified' with the fax/MS printer above it in the 'printer' section and I don't know if I can access it as a printer  I think that I will try out the techie board tomorrow though - :T
