What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
Welcome to the debt free wannabe board. A great place for seeking advice and inspiration and support on getting out of debt. Please read the above in case you come across one the very few trolls or more frequent spammers that come our way.

Got fed up with clicking - I got into a paid survey that went on for ages and ages but I thought to heck it is for £1.25 so I'll persevere - well when I did eventually finish and went back to the start I realised it was for 25p - was it worth the effort I say - well it's better to have it than not but 25p for 1/2 hour - not quite the minimum wage is it???? Keep telling myself that every penny counts
and after that I could not be bothered to do any more clicks - which aren't much fun after 3 whiskies anyway
So I read through some threads (welcome to the NSD thread Tixy) and then back here to find the cutie pups - g-o-r-geous - that cheered me up. I am sitting here with our eldest dog curled up closely beside me and the other two youngsters curled up with hubbie in bed - hope there is room for us when we go to bed soonMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

You're right about surveys, 3Dogs, sometimes I wonder whether they're worth, but keep persisting.
Hope 2 dogs and hubbie make room for you in the bed - sounds very cosy!
Just finished my NSD update - off to bed now.

Nargle - I seem to remember the last time you were in Wisbech, the Belfast building burnt down - well on Thursday morning 1.30 am'ish th Pheonix Hotel completely burned as well - there is only the facade left - in case you need a nudge, the Phoenix is on North Brink, next to the Hare & Hounds, next to the banks - it was a chinese restaurant - do you remember it. The two of them were diagonally facing each other (almost) across the river/town bridge. A warehouse near there also had a bad fire a few days before. Wonder if there's an arsonist about - or just [STRIKE]insurance jobs[/STRIKE] coincidences ???? It's a shame about the Pheonix as that is part of the fantastic Georgian frontages along North Brink
And your inference is??? It was nowt to do wiv me guv!
The Phoenix used to be called the Olde Whyte Harte Hotel when I were a lass. One life - your life - live it!0 -
