soappie - I'm sure that the son isn't brave enough to actually confront you :p:p.

funnily enough that's exactly what I was going to say. Seriously soappie i think you're doing the right thing. Good that you chatted to the councillor and perhaps have a word with the council officer too (unless she's now on maternity leave if it's who I think it might be!)

my blood donor session for tomorrow has been cancelled :( due to lack of staff. And I've had an invitation to one near home, but yet again, it's one that no appointments are available for. I'm beginning to think they don't want my blood. I can't find ANY local appointments...
I had a similar problem a few times...once I went and even though I had an appointment they'd double booked everyone and after over an hour I'd not had the bit where they !!!!! your finger so I went home. I always want to go to Canary Wharf but unbelievably they only offer appointments 9.30-12 and 2-4 or something like that...erm, why not lunchtime or before/after work, esp somewhere like that.

DH has put all the recycling out, and I've filled the bin this week, which NEVER happens! I'm going out for the day tomorrow to meet a friend for coffee and lunch, about an hour's train journey away plus the bus so I'll be leaving about 9.45am.

Yup - she's on maternity leave ;) You know the OB with the initials HC - he was on the Board at one time. It's quite sad really

Chippy food for me tonight.. nyomnyomnyomnyom!!!

It appears DS2 has helped himself from my purse again.. I can't figure out if I am £40 or £60 short.. all in £20's.. this is the exact same money he took last time.. I've not got round to spending it yet as it is saved for OH's new glasses supposedly ready last Friday.. only half the money for them mind  They are at KH's the moment so I rang to ask him to check DS2's pockets!! There is no sign of it in his room though I have found 2 £10 notes from somewhere.. not sure if they are DS3's from his birthday on the 4th though... either way it is now in my safe!
OUCH - I can feel the pain both yours and his and I didnt hear what happened after the last time as I was AWOL.

    Evening all,

Massive hugs to LadyL - tried to call, but understand that you're obviously not up to talking at the moment - I'm here when you are ready or need to.

What I'm about to say seems so trivial compared to this, but I decluttered a lesson observation this afternoon after the day from hell. Got in this morning to find that colleague was off sick, so I didn't have the maths sheets for both classes as she'd only sent me the plans last night. Then I found out that my lesson observation was going to be straight after lunch 1-2. I ended up spending the whole of break and assembly time trying to print and photocopy maths sheets instead of doing my display for my obs, so had no time at lunch to set up the laptops etc to check they were all working. I got a satisfactory in the end which is ok, but I'm feeling really rubbish - the cold that started on Saturday has got worse, and I couldn't hear in my right ear, I'm completely bunged up, and when I swallow or sniff, my neck hurts. Everyone at school seems to be ill with different variations on a theme, so cover is short. My Mum thinks I should take tomorrow off sick, but I don't know. Kids have been a nightmare too - 2 of them had a fight in the middle of my lesson observation, and the usual suspects let me down by sitting on their backsides and doing nothing all lesson!! My Mum thinks colleague has done it deliberately, and that I should call in sick tomorrow. It's very tempting at the moment.

I shall start clearing out some of my things from school this week. I may have to do a couple of later nights to get all of the filing up-to-date, but at least I can clear some piles of paperwork.

Lots of us are going out for a curry on Friday night, which I'm really looking forward to. Curry is good for colds, and as we all have colds anyway, I don't have to feel guilty about spreading germs.

Well I'd better get on with a bit of marking before dinner.

Hugs to all who need or want them.

SM - I cant believe they are still trying to make your life hell. Stand up to them though, like someone else has said go in with your head held high and spread your germs :rotfl: you know you havent got long now :T:T

Jinky - please pass on my thoughts, prayers, hugs and miracles to L-L when you have a moment.

Oh boy, seems I'm in trouble. Had to nip up to best friend up the road's house for a signature on something. She had some info to impart. Remember I picked up an old boy for a meeting last week? Well, seems his git faced son who lives just round the corner (known to be a money grabbing bully apparently) has been in the corner shop demanding to know where I live because he wants to know how dare I take him out etc. etc.....The corner shop (fortunately!) didn't release that info to him.

I am now in a real quandary. When I dropped the old boy back last week, he said he wanted to come to a public meeting on Weds. I said I'd organise a lift for him (which probably means I'll pick him up myself!). I don't know what to do now. I arranged to pick him up for last week's meeting after phoning him on the suggestion of a Council officer.

He does not appear to be gaga in anyway, just physically frail. He lives in sheltered accommodation and has his own flat - even though there are loads of panic buttons etc.. The wardens were very aware I was taking him out in his wheelchair (I even went to the office with him because there was an issue with his keys) and there was no obstruction from them.

What do I do now? I can't phone him and say "your son says he doesn't want me taking you out" and yet the old boy seemed to positively enjoy coming to the meeting last week and will enjoy Wednesday's.

NN has suggested I phone the home tomorrow and speak to the warden and see if there's any reason why the old boy can't come out on a jaunt which I will do. But I wondered if you clever flyladies had any suggestions or advise on how to deal with the situation
I see you have already had some really good responses and have this sorted but if I was in your shoes I would take the OB bless him. Not only will you probably make his day but his week as well which is more than his toe rag son seems to. WTG Soappie :A

Ok I really should iron some clothes from the mammoth pile ready for work tomorrow but I think I will find my bed now and get up early tomorrow to do it.

So much for my extra day off heh :rotfl:

    Night night all

I have survived IKEA with the kids. Got what we needed to. Used some discount vouchers so all good.

Fracture clinic in the morning with DS2 - how long that will take who knows.

Sandy - good luck for tomorrow, let's hope it is something really easy to explain x

Helen - that sounds very scary, glad somebody stopped to help

Lady Liberty so sorry the news was not good, keeping everything crossed for you

Sexy - hope you feel better tomorrow. I never think you can decide the day before if you will be sick the next day, is just depends on how bad you feel in the morning

Vanilla - hope DH has a peaceful night and gets the care he needs
    soon

Soappie - good luck witht he OB

Just going to put the washing on and then off to bed for me, I'm shattered.
