First time shoplifting or first time getting caught?
If I were you I'd be very grateful that the police were not called. It's practise in most big shops that they always prosecute. You don't have a record, you just need to get a new job (and stop thieving).0 -
Lucky escape as the police weren't involved. There won't be anything on a CRB as there was no caution or conviction. I would start looking immediately for another job and hope this scared the bejesus out of you so much you don't want to do it again.0

They couldnt eject her/him forcefully, but the police can and the security woul bound to call them.
They also cant sneak into work, as with most shopping centres the security staff can go in any shop after all they are paid to go into each shop and stuff and work with the in store security, and boots have store detectives who would know ( and these security staff kow where she works, so will go in and check, I know i would if i was on shift there), and inform shopping centre staff.
There are lots of reasons why police maybe not involved the main reason being continuity of evidence.
S - selection of goods
C - Concealment of goods
O - Observation
N - non payment (passing till without presenting goods)
E - Exiting (Must exit Store and pass over their boundary)
If anyone of these arent followed then a store detective/ security have cast a shadow on the evidence, and will therefore not use the police but in fact get the goods back, and then ban them from all areas a shop or centre, they can do this verbally, they dont have to give you a letter.Awaiting Inspiration......................0 -

Big difference between inadvertently doing something and choosing to shoplift surely?
All actions have consequences, it seems to be an outdated concept.....Piglet

Where is the abuse that you said everyone is posting?
Think you find my posts arent abusive, and are fact, after being in the security field for many years. And training security staff/companies and shopping centres on retail loss.Awaiting Inspiration......................0 -
All you can do is speak to your boss, they may allow you in their store but the security might not let you in other the public areas/shops in the mall.
The truth is harsh, and you came for advice not just what you want to hear. Odds are your banned from the shopping centre so you cannot access your job so you will have lost it almost for sure. You made a mistake and it has serious consequences for you. As above unless the police are involved and you are charged it won't appear on a CRB.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
