  • Morning all,

Happy Mother's day and hugs to those who may find this day a little hard.:grouphug:

As for me, my DD has just given me a beautiful card and a little present - and is desperate to give me more...but I've told her to wait til after breakfast.

    So, the plan for today.....

Tackle the house, it's not in the best state! DH and DD will do the garden and some tip trips so that will be all good.

Brunch - Full english (cooked by me!)

Dinner - Roast Chicken and Veggies...

I may even attempt to bake a cake.....I'll let you know how that goes.....

    Hugs

    Linkypie

    Morning peeps

what a beautiful sunny day! bit breezy but very nice. I woke just after 6 so as a result Sunday lunch is almost ready :D DH will be home later today but i`m not sure what time so everything can be reheated quickly later. The kitchen looks like a bombsite as usual so i`ll give that a good clean when i`ve finished.

The houndies will be going out for their morning walk shortly and then i shall tackle the kitchen and living room and then the hall and stairs in that order and then i shall be out in the garden drilling more holes in pots and sowing some more seeds, i`m planning a bumper harvest this year so fingers crossed :D

I`ve got a fencepost to deal with as the post snapped off in the wind and we have a missing panel so whilst i`ve got the drill out i may tackle that, i`m not sure how difficult its going to be but i guess i shall soon find out, its not a standard size so may have to drill out some concrete and ashphalt so that it can be replaced and i won`t really have a clue until i get started.

Mum arrived home late last night to find that the home phone wasn`t working and apparently BT Openreach have been digging holes in 3 places trying to find the fault, hers hasn`t been reported so i did that for her so that she didn`t waste any of her moby minutes doing it. Hopefully it will be sorted soon as she has no internet connection, she joked that she will have hunderds of emails to read.

Will see Mum for the belated Mothers day later this week and she was happy with that, today she will be catching up on sleep and unpacking so i`ll get to hear about their trip later.

Redruby - Congrats to your DD re her exam results, bet your bursting with pride.

Happy Mothers day to all the mums here today, feet up time for you all!

Right i`m off to check and see if the roast pork is done then i can set off with the houndies.

Have a super sunny Sunday peeps.

Morning all and happy mothers day.

N9eav I'm with you on that. I got some lovely presents but the best was the homemade cards off my kids and DS2 made a present at cubs. A mug with hot chocolate in and mini heros all in a decorated bag (Haven't got the heart to tell him I don't like hot chocolate:o) I feel the same about valentines day as well.

LINKYPIE2009 Leave the house the mess will be there tomorrow. Better still get the family to clean it as a mothers day treat;)

jc2703 I used to love those books when I was a kid. None of mine like it so I read it to myself:rotfl:

Diva That is a lovely verse. DD loved the horse clip:D

I'm not seeing my mum until next weekend. Will give me longer to buy a present;)
Not planning on doing much at all today other than walk the dog. DH and DD are in the kitchen cooking me breakfast then I am off for a lush bath.
I will be a grand prix widow later than once the race has finished he will insist on telling me all the details (rolls eyes)
Hope you all have a lovely day:)

    Morning everyone.

Well I am officially now the wrong side of 30 today ;)
Had lots of lovely cards and pressies. H bought me a bracelet and gave me some money to go shopping. Kids gave me a couple of DVD's. Had money from everyone else so some serious retail therapy will be planned at some point :)

Kids also bought me for Mothers Day some wine a chocs - can see a rather large headache looming on the horizon with that one :rotfl:

Spoilt rotten with a lie in (although DD spent most of the morning in one strop after another so not much sleep going on).

My mum and dad are coming over tonight and we're having ham cooked in SC (by my mum) with mash, peas and pickle :p

Heading off to the St Patricks Day parade mid morning. the sun is shining so it's a great day so far.

Electrician fixed our problem yesterday so am £60 lighter in the pocket. We were lucky though as one of the wires to the fuse board hadn't been tightened enough and had worked it's way loose - we were lucky it hadn't started a fire

Happy Mother's Day to everyone (yes even you N9eav :rotfl:You are our resident grumpy old man). Hugs to those that need one on this day xx

    Diva - lovely poem

N9eav - I saw the price of petrol yesterday and my mouth hit the floor. And what do we the great British public do about it?! Nothing

Hart - I loved the Faraway Tree books :D

Right I had better get some brekkie in me and get packed lunches done (see some OS going on ;))
    Have a lovely Sunday :D

Edited to add : yes I am aware that at nearly 38 I should be much more adult about these things.....but come on!!!:rotfl:

Edited again to add: my apologies if I have caused offence to anyone that is actually called Fanny :o

    Good morning everyone

DH is finishing off boarding the loft this morning and so I'm contemplating the ironing pile. I'll give my mum a call later - I would have had her and my dad round for lunch, but they are tied by my grandma who still lives in her own home (but definitely shouldn't). Not that grandma will realise that it's Mothering Sunday, or even a Sunday. It's a big, BIG strain on them. I only hope that I don't end up like that, not that I'd realise it I'm sure!

I've got to decide later whether to turn the 1lb of mince into either a spag bol OR a chilli con carne. I suspect a trip to Mr T later will be required. Not during the Grand Prix though. That time will be reserved for ironing. :o In front of the tv, naturally.

We've just started to have our milk delivered through www.milkandmore.co.uk It's possibly a little luxury, but I feel that it's quite a nice thing to have. In our previous house (in a different area) the milk delivery was at about 9am - not a good time to deliver with DH and I both working; not that people should amend their delivery times around us!! :D At least here the delivery takes place at 5am.

Hope you all have a good day and those who are mothers get spoilt rotten.

    Morning all
Well Mothers day is over for me, we did it yesterday, it was lovely to have everybody all together & I now have loads of chocolate to eat.
Meal plan for this week will be leftovers from yesterday, lol.
2nd lot of washing is on the line, hubby is going to get the Mail on Sunday for me in a bit, so I may not bother to get dressed today.
GP is on later, should be an interesting race, it'll be finished 2:30ish so I'll do dinner then.
I shall make a batch of sandwiches to put in the freezer & I have 2 pairs of trousers to take up & 2 sets of pockets to repair as they have gone through. I'm hoping to make some more hens, I found some 60/70's fabric, green needlecord with white squiggles on it, so I will make a batch with that.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Good morning all & Happy Mothering Sunday :)

Massive hugs to those who don't have their Mum's with them now for whatever reason xxxx

I have got a lovely bunch of lilies (my absolute favourite flowers due to the heavenly smell), a new copy of Delia's Complete Cookery course to replace my battered one, a Simply Red cd, a Robbie Williams cd and some choccies - I'm feeling very spoiled.

Didn't get on yesterday as I had an awful migraine and spent most of the day in bed trying top get the painful throbbing under control but am feeling fine today :T

We're having a chicken casserole with spring veg for lunch today it's a'll prepped just needs cooking. I have some ironing to do but not much as I have made myself do it every other day through the week. Apart from that it'll be a nice relaxing day here. I saw my Mum yesterday so won't be doing so today. I have rang her and she's thrilled with her present - a pot, compost and lily bulbs that I found in Tesco. It'll last longer than flowers I hope.

Have a good day everyone & I'll pop in later to see how we all are xxxx

Edited to add: Happy Birthday Bitsy Beans!!! :bdaycake::bdaycake:

Morning all...............(((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) if you need one.

We slept in again this morning, I woke at 7am, turned over and woke again at 8.20. Having worked in the garden for 3 1/2hrs yesterday I have decided to give it a rest today, my hip and kness are telling me that they did not appreciate the exercise, so I may well do a bit more tomorrow when OH is at his games afternoon at the bowls club.

Its a nice morning, sun shining, not sure how warm it is I have not been out yet.

Messages from les enfant for Mothering Sunday, DS2 sent me a text from his lorry on the Motorway on his way with a delivery, DD1 and DS1 messages by email and |DD2 sent me a card and a parcel in the week.

Pork chops for supper tonight...need to scrabble in the freezer for fruit to make a crumble for dessert.

I am not sure if OH is going to work in the garden today, he said he was going to barrow a couple of loads of weeds up to the bonfire.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
