The choice between weekly and four weekly is shortly to be withdrawn for new pensioners. No more weekly, and 3 weeks interest on everyone's pension in Gordon's pocket.

Further to my post yesterday about free swimming in a neighbouring local authority area, we went to the nearest one to suss it out. http://www.creatingleisure.co.uk/centres/3/home/Belfairs-Swim-Centre.aspx

We were welcomed with open arms, no question of paying, everyone welcome of whatever age due to Government funding, and the Belfairs Swim Centre has only just reopened after extensive refurbishment. Swimming lessons free too, and they never say too old to learn.

Ooh I'm glad I opted for the weekly payment! I turned 60 yesterday and got a letter today saying my first payment will be made on Monday. Yay!

However my Freedom Pass hasn't arrived yet and I applied for it over two weeks ago. I tried applying earlier but couldn't - I just knew it would be delayed!
