northern quarter is fab for bits and bobs - abakhans (previously mentioned) is an absolute treasure trove if you're into crafting or sewing/knitting, they either charge by weight OR length, so you get the best...I'm a bit of an addict of theirs! I'm starting to do Nappy Cakes as I have lots of friends who don't want to pay 50 quid for some rolled up nappies and a rattle! Also, Manchester Fort - cheetham hill is wonderful, had some great bargains from there and free parking (free is the best price!).
bargain save/quality save always good for your basics, and freegle/freecycle is a must if you are looking for something specific!0
