I'm moving to Manchester soon and looking at areas in which to rent a nice 1 bed flat. My work will be based in Chorlton and sometimes in other parts of Manchester. So far I've been looking for flats in Chorlton and Didsbury. Are there any other areas I should consider?

Thanks for that, I'd forgotten about whalley range. The Salford Quays area also looks ok with many newly built apartments. Decisions decisions!

    Hi peeps
Has anyone been to Rushholme (aka the curry mile?) no not for the takeaways, but there are plenty of grocery shops selling all kinds of specialty ingredients which you wouldn't find in the supermarkets - worth a look if your passing by.

I find largemanchester.com really useful for reviews and suggestions on events, bars and restaurants around the city. Just seen the news on the Irish festival on there too so that's me sorted for the weekend. :):)

There's Meezan at the bottom and International at the top, which are quite big supermarkets with all kinds of spices and things...
