Hi peeps
Has anyone been to Rushholme (aka the curry mile?) no not for the takeaways, but there are plenty of grocery shops selling all kinds of specialty ingredients which you wouldn't find in the supermarkets - worth a look if your passing by.
I find largemanchester.com really useful for reviews and suggestions on events, bars and restaurants around the city. Just seen the news on the Irish festival on there too so that's me sorted for the weekend.
And if you're in North Manchester there are similar in Cheetham Hill - the supermarket that used to be Kwiksave/Somerfield was particularly good last time I was in.0 -
Speaking of which is anyone or has anyone been to Manchester's Irish Festival yet?0

Worldwide Food at the town end of Rusholme is a bargain. They do tins of chopped toms and chickpeas etc at really cheap. Also their fruit, veg and spices are great value. X0

Wing Yip just outside the city centre (Oldham Road, M4 5HU) is brilliant for oriental food. We go to stock up on things like soya sauce, chilli sauce and herbs and spices as they are so much cheaper than the supermarkets.
The last time I went I got rice paper and made my own spring rolls, tasted gorgeous and were much cheaper than buying them from a take away.0 -

Not much else to add except that you must become a member of freegle manchester because it is great and needs more members.

Hi,
Tigi who make Bedhead and Catwalk hair products, have opened a training academy at Media City, Salford Quays, Manchester. The haircuts and colours are free and all done by either their own creative team and educators or fully qualified hairdressers learning new techniques. Really good service just like going to a salon as you get advice and asked what you want. They do all different cuts and colours from classic to creative. You need to call 0844 8440946(office hours) to register and if you want a colour they need to skin test you.
Now I've passed on that little gem of a money saver, can anyone recommend a driving instructor in the City/Salford Quays area?
Thanks

Does anyone know where's the best place to sell gold in the Manchester area please? I don't want to send it in the post or go to any old pawn shop. I've seen a place on Oldham Street that publishes their price outside which makes me think they might make a reasonable offer. Thanks0
