    Bury Market (on the end of the metrolink) is fantastic.

    Gatley; River Mersey is about half a mile before it (although the M60 is nearer - you'd think they'd have spotted that!). Not really a "country" place to visit though, but a nice enough place.

    hi does anyone know of any jewellery making courses in colleges around manchester, that they would recommend? evening or part time in daytime. any info appreciated thanks

    Great thread...thanks for starting it!:D I'll have a think about cheapie places. South Manchester is very expensive.Ashton Market excellent and cheap.
  • When I was a student I used to frequent the Lidl on Oxford Road. There's a small market in Longsight which has cheap vegetables. It's not the classiest place ever, however.
