Drew out enough cash to last me for a week, went for another job interview and overpaid my Barclaycard again (second week running). What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160

Last night and this evening I went to consultation evenings run by my Housing Association. Each evening I've received a £20 High Street gift voucher, £10 childcare expenses (even though she was with her Dad) and £7.30 in mileage allowance. I have another next week. Grand Total: £60 vouchers and £51.90 cash0

Second good day in a row LOL
After living without a freezer for over a month I went on a stock up mission to fill my "new" one todayI first went to asda and bought a pork joint, 2 packs of minced turkey (makes gorgeous turkey burgers when mixed with sage, breadcrumbs and an egg!) and chicken breasts and legs in the reduced section (came to a total of £5.36+ another £5.24 for cereal, a few tins and toiletries), then went to Farmstores and filled up on fish, pizzas for a lazy tea (can't make them cheaper than 2 for £1.50!) ice-cream treats for the kids, a pack of lean mince, a pack of frozen bread buns for the turkey burgers and some other non frozen bits (tins, milk, and cheese etc). total just under £13. That has to be my cheapest weeks shopping for a long long time. Total, aprox £23.
It's a novelty to me at the moment and I am on a high because I've spent so little, but I have that little voice in the back of my head telling me maybe I've cut corners a little bit too far.
We will see!0 -
Don't listen to the voice! It's called "HABIT" Enjoy your new way of living and get these cheap thrills which make your life a lot easier long term. Keep the list of what you bought this week and just vary it a little each week to keep within the same limits. I buy all of my meat when its reduced-I never ever pay full price ofr it. It becomes a habit eventually-a NEW HABIT. You can rename it Piggy(bank)
Today I had ANOTHER no spend day. So what if we are drinking longlife milk! I had a free lunch at my cousins also so that was nice. She wanted to go shopping, but at that point, I left her and came home instead, telling her that I already had all I needed and I realy didnt fancy shopping.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Each month I've not been spending my £20 clothes allowance which, at first, seems a good thing - it just makes me miserable though and I end up frittering it away on other things. So, this month I hit the charity shops and got some new jeans (desperately needed), 3 tops, a cute vintagey cardigan and a string of faux pearls! All for the princeley sum of £14.54! Woohoo! Feel like a million dollars in my new clothes but didn't have to spend that much!
Oooh, also, me and OH have been having beach bbq's every night with the mountains of freezer stuff we have to use up before moving to our new (cheaper) flat with a titchy freezer. So having gorgeous sun-soaked evenings on the beach as we live in Bournemouth and making sure no wastage.

Went to Primark yesterday, took a few things into the changing room. But even though they were quite cheap I resisted as they weren't quite what I wanted........EXCEPT for a cardigan I will use for work.
When I went to pay, instead of being £6 it was £1!!!! Result!!!!0 -
Well, I need to get DS a new pair of shoes today which I have been putting off for weeks and I know will cost me £28:eek: HOWEVER, as I knew this was coming I sold mountains of stuff on ebay and yesterday transferred £120 to my bank account from my ebay account :j So that's the shoes covered and the rest I can put towards my overdraft - woohoo and again I say woohoo :rotfl:DFW Nerd no: 1490

Today I am going to cook:
