I've tried soaking in hot water with vinegar added, but only a slight improvement. They still look decidedly manky redface.gif

    Can anyone suggest anything?

    Thanks smile.gif

Kim and aggie suggest using a home made scouring paste of equal parts vinegar and salt. Not tried it but its sure to work

I find that you sometimes leave a faint whiff of bleach in the mug too and the first couple of cups of tea seem to be tainted. So I avoid all the bleach based options.

Personally, I use Astonish paste which is quick and effective. Alternatively, any other "soft paste" option e.g. made from salt or bi-carb with vinegar or lemon juice seems to work.

I only use china mugs for tea and these seem to stain more!! And I won't put them in the dishwasher as it shortens their lifespan (they tend to crack quicker and the glaze/pattern fades).
