    Hi guys,

I really hate to be the one to stick up for this guy, because his attitude really stinks, but....

Don't be like that with Mr L.
He's like a big old fluffy Panda Bear - just let him roll over so you can tickle his tummy (although some people would take the chance to stamp on his n*ts:p).

On several threads, under (dare I say it) several names, he has been very, very useful to a lot of people.( and a PITA to others)

I have heard it said, in whispered conversations, in darkened rooms, by people, of unknown origin.

I've also heard it said that people with the name Cat, aren't always feline

I think what it clearly demonstrates is that there is no such thing as an "always cheapest option" You really need to research for each individual circumstance.

The itinerary above is a strange one in that there are huge gaps between departing cities.
In order to compare against a RTW ticket Id think you would need to go
London - New Delhi - Trivandrum - Singapore - Los Angeles - New York - London, so an extra 2 flights at least.

However as Mr Lahey has correctly pointed out, depending on your individual requirements, individual bookings may offer huge savings.

I've just gone and looked at a globe, and I have no idea why you want the RTW, as you are not going around the world. You need a 'down a bit, down a bit more, right a bit, quite a bit more right, then right more all the way back to where you started ticket."

I always thought a RTW ticket was exactly that. I mean forgive me for thinking that "round the world" meant leaving East and returning from the West. How stupid of me to think that going the full way around the world meant going round the world

Unfortunately as far as I'm aware that doesn't fit into your rip-off theory.

Ive busted it already so it does.

However if you were to fit in a brief stopover on the other side of the world (like, NZ, or Oz at a push) even for a day or two, you could get the following:

London - Delhi (Virgin). Trivandrum - Singapore (Silk Air). Singapore - Auckland (or somewhere similar in that part of the world - Singapore Airlines), Auckland - LA (Air New Zealand), New York - London (Virgin) on a RTW ticket called the Great Escapade for £1248 including tax.

Even worse you could have a load of additional free stops! Free!

Anyway, just to repeat £1,248 from 13 April - 30 June departures. That's less than the amount you claim you're being ripped off by!!!

Gowon then, price those up individually, I expect you to be able to get them for -£152 to prove your 'rip-off theory'.

    Lon - Delhi £247 - Air India
    Trivandrum - KUL - £34 Air Asia
    Bangkok - Lax £337 Malaysian
    NYC - Lon £220 Icelandair
    Total = £838

£410 saving on your ticket. But i don't even want to go to Australia. So like i said way back on page one - You have arrived here and completely avoided all the facts and come up with something to back up your own "its not a rip off" when actually it is.

Exactly how does comparing 2 different routes back up your arguement? Of course they will cost different amounts! Apples and pears

Haha Mr Lahey never fails to disappoint with his top class entertainment!

Have read his latest threads, very amusing lol :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

But, I cant help thinking he doesnt do all this travelling..... I reckon he lives in a 20 storey council flat, wearing his crappy Tesco slippers and sipping at his cheap White Lightening! Cruises down the Amsterdam canals, trips to India, christ - you are either talking aload of tripe or you have a good imagination!

    Keep it up, Mr.L!
