Evening buffet question please ladies!

What are your numbers, and what number are you going to cater for?

So for example, you are inviting 100, and catering for 70.

  • We're inviting 40 to the day, then an extra 120 to the night. Catering for 80 because some people will eat before they come, some people won't need anything after the meal in the day and some people won't come.

Thanks girls, still going over our invoice here.

When we went to the meeting, I asked what % of guests do they recommend to cater for and we were told all of them!

I have never ever heard of anyone catering for every person invited, has anyone else?

Anyway, around 120 are invited for the night and we are catering for 80 ~ does that sound OK?

Obviously not all 120 will be there, and 35 will have eaten in the day too.

What do you think? Is 80 to cater for too much?

    oooh good question.

We had 70 coming to the day and night and are catering for 70 day and nigt?

Should i tell the venue to cater for 49 people instead!!!

Were having the same guests for the day and night time.

16 of these are under 12 and we have a sweetie buffet which i think the kids will be more interested in after their big meal.

  • You're not far off me, I might go a little less, it depends what you've got in your buffet too. I thought about it and I've never seen a buffet with the food all gone so I think you could probably go 70-75 TBH.

We're having 85 to the day and then a further 50 to the evening - i think we'll cater for 80 at the most, as the 85 will have eated a few hours previously and there is always stuff left over.

it depends on what your having i suppose, if your having bacon butties then you'll obviously need to cater for all.

If your having a finger buffet with lots of little bits then you can cater for less.
