they might buy just one item from HT and then stick on ebay.
They may bulk buy and just sell on ebay, and have a lot of stuff they are selling, so they aren't losing out money, hence they can sell so cheap.
Remember to tell your customers if they are unhappy with any of the products, or they don't work, Avon replace for free, or they are able to return for free,, no having to wait for the postman to deliver, and if they aren't happy, having to pay to return to ebay seller, or if it stops working, having to email ebay seller to see if they are prepared to take it back and refund them....

Thanks for the responses, I dont suppose you have the template for the A5 pamphlet I could copy ? really cheeky I know but I am having trouble trying to put it together.
My friend has just joined Avon and I have directed her here, she is so impressed with all the ideas and help. I only work from one book to make sure I dont get confused but I have said you all work from two to get better value for money. I have told her to keep an eye out for bargains that have been missed and creative ordering, but most importantly the message I get from here is look after your customers and word gets round, the customers also become loyal when they know you are going to be regular. The odd free gift for better ordering works really well. I do a free raffle over 3 capaigns spend over £? for a ticket, I then put in lots of liuttle prizes I have collected.
Not cheeky at all (we share the docs we've prepped all the time with each other). PM me with your email address and I'll gladly send you the word doc - it prints on A4 double sided and folds over into an A5 pamphlet. Obviously applies to anyone else who'd like it too.
No need to get confused about using two books; think of it as comparing prices at two local shops (you do that naturally - yes?) Just chose whichever deal is best irrespective which books your customers have ordered from. (Splitting your customer base so half are on your current campaign and half are on your back campaign just minimises the amount of books you need to buy.)
Well done you for all your little incentives. Everyone loves a bargain or even better a freebie.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Just collected my books. From 30 catalogues I left in Monday, I 've got three back- and no orders. Nothing.
Hang in there.... If it's any comfort, I went out with one of my new ladies yesterday on her supposedly Given Territory and after 2 hours of 'knocking and asking' we only got 7 people to take a book. She went back to collect today and didn't get one order either.
In her case, as you know, we came across a book from another rep, whom I rang, and found out she's been covering the area for the last 2 years. Her direct upliner is our ASM and despite all her time, effort and money expended nurturing these two streets, our ASM is adamant she can't have it as her Given Territory. My new lady is very shy and combined with the total waste of 2 hrs effort and this unwanted aggro, she's decided she doesn't want the territory anyway. I've given my new rep some of my customers to help get her off to a good start and found her some others today* (*more about that later) so she'll be fine but it really annoys me why territory issues seem to be aggravated by ASMs - or is it just mine?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hi all,
Firstly just wanted to say a huge thankyou to all of you. I signed up as a rep in May & found this forum just after & since then have "popped in" every day to read your posts!! Bit of a wuss when it comes to posting hence it has taken me 4 wks to do so!
I had my second order delivered today & it is thanks to you all that I have a few cheap / free bits from creative ordering & I also percevered with dropping books at territory as I now understand it can take time, I haven't had huge orders but enough to hit HOV.
Look forward to catching up each day on here & maybe bring brave enough to post on here again!!
THANKS to you all again.

I'm so P'd off. i was burgled on Sunday night. They took Avon money I had collected that night and by handbag full of stuff. I had my bottle of Outspoken and make up bag full of my favorite stuff. I'm so skint now and so sad. I had to pay for my last order out of mostly my own money and couldn't pay on time without my cards. To top it off, my order won't come on friday, so I'm letting my customers down, It's so not fair. :-((Paula0

*Was given a tip recently (and some 'official looking Avon canvassing sheets' by my upliner - they're printed double-sided, not photocopies so presumably issued by Avon), which was reeeeallly successful today so wanted to share it.
Went out - without any Avon books - just with my Avon T-shirt (Vistaprint) on and carrying a clipboard (with these sheets, of course, but could be anything I guess as no-one asked to look at them) and knocked on doors, apologising for disturbing them but explaining I was doing a survey as to when the last time anyone had turned up at their door and offered them an Avon book and/or even the last time they'd seen an Avon book (if they could remember). Explained I was trying to establish if the street was being effectively canvassed/covered by an Avon rep i.e. so if not it could be re-allocated to one, who would look after it. Once people got over the initial mistrust of 'what are you trying to sell me?'they generally then became very helpful - irrespective of whether they were actually interested in having an Avon book or not (a question, which I did of course ask towards the end of our 'chat'
;)) Pretty sure it also helped that I explained there was a new rep, who lived at the end of their street, and I was trying to help her get a 'good start'.
In two hours (coincidentally the same amount of time I'd spent canvassing supposedly newly Given Territory with my newbie the day before), I came back with a history of who on the two streets were former Avon reps (3), 13 people, who want a book dropping off and two orders (one for fit flops because, of course, I was wearing mine and she couldn't believe they were from Avon :rotfl:) and one for sun products provided she can have them before she goes on holiday next month.
Came away wondering why on earth I'd not done this before; not having books on me seemed to help as it took the 'stress' out of it. OK I covered 66 houses and only got 13 potential new customers but I already have 14 customers there anyway (+ the next street of 8 houses, 5 of which are my customers) and that's a belting little area for my new rep. :T Hope she can cope! :rotfl:
PS: Just re-read this and it sounds like I've done something I shouldn't i.e. cold canvassing. In my 'defence', I've been trying to get these streets released and allocated to my team since February but according to my ASM they're already taken/allocated to another rep. According to everyone I spoke to today, however, they've not seen a rep (other than me) since - at best last October and at worst for more than 3 years. My new rep can, of course, look after all these people because they're her friends/neighbours. Despite my efforts, am pretty sure my ASM will not 'give in' easily but, of course, I could be wrong.....Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
