Just wondering about how to go about mentioning Avon at playgroup tomorrow, I chickened out last week. I don't know why but im really nervous about bringing it up??????
I normally keep myself to myself at the group, and rarely talk to many others unless our babies end up playing with the same toy and its sorta forced conversation really. Should I just ask the leader if i can leave a book on the signing in table? im even freaking out about asking that!!!!! Or just leave a brochure on top of my pram and pray that someone mentions it????
    I know im completly mental.
Has anyone else had any sucess at playgroup and how did you go about doing it?
Aside from that im considering joining a few new playgroups for the sole purpose of hunting down new customers and oddly feel less nervous about asking them then the one I go to most weeks

Ive just read this post back and I sound like a complete freak!!! honestly im not that freakish under normal circumstances lol

Hopefully someone with first-hand experience will come along and let you know how they've done at playgroups, etc.

Meanwhile, my initial thoughts - depending on how 'brave' you're feeling - are:

    * Open a book and glance through it if you get chance (you may find someone will ask you where you got it from ;) )
    * Leave a spare clearance or back-catalogue - with an order form, of course - in the WC/cloakroom (or is that too sneeky?)
    * If you fancy, approach the Leader and offer them 10% for playgroup funds for any orders generated from the playgroup
    * At some point you could maybe even do a party at the playgroup....???
    * C12 is the one where the children's shampoo's, bubble baths etc. are on offer for 99p so maybe that's a good talking point?
    * Alternatively, if you get an opening you could even talk about how nervous you are because you've just started doing Avon.....

Know what you mean about not speaking to anyone at playgroup though; I was exactly the same. Used to sit on the sidelines while other mums made great busom buddies. It's only later that you realise that other mums may also be as nervous as you too.

If you view it like you're tipping them off about a bargain though (e.g. if you knew Johnson's Baby Oil or nappies were on special offer at Tesco's would you let other new mums know?) then you may find it easier rather than have in the back of your mind that you're trying to sell someone something. Avon will sell itself, honest! You're just the catalyst to pass the word.:rotfl:

Good luck; just enjoy it. You'll find whatever products you like, chances are others will too.
Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon ;))

it depends on your SL. I always give my reps the sale booklets, as I think it helps them in their first few campaigns. Also they can use them as extra books to cover their territory.

Just wondering about how to go about mentioning Avon at playgroup tomorrow,

    Hi gempink

I chickened out the first time too. I got my Playgroup leader to tell the group I was an avon rep and if anyone was interested in getting a book to see me. She actually put in a couple of big orders for 2 months and sold products for me by recommending them to other mums.

So maybe approach your Playgroup leader and tell her you sell Avon, and would she mind if you left some books on the tables for mums to have a look at. No pressure to buy, 90 day returns guarantee, free to look, and a big smile.

    good luck with it.

Morning all, quick question, just had a call from a mate asking to add a nail file to her order that she has seen on the website, but I can't find it anywhere in any of the books!!! Can I order things from the site and somehow get them delivered with my order? Also, is the footworks Tea and Mint range no longer in production (taken over by Cherry), she really wanted that one and again I can't find it (apart from a lotion in the clearance, but she wants the cooling spary).

    Thanks in advance

Tea and Mint cooling foot spray, C11 Sale brochure 35816 £2.50
    Flexible Nail File C11 16048 £1.50

    Hope this helps SG

    :)

Well, my C11 delivery came today. Rather disappointed in that I am missing 9 items and all of them charged for on my invoice. My ASM called over and went through the delivery with me. All missing items have now been ordered via 'replacements' for immediate replacement and the ASM has agreed that all items are missing. One of my reps on my team called whilst ASM was here and advised 15 items missing and charged for in her order. I think the automated delivery chute has had a really really bad day. Not as bad as Im going to have explaining all of this to my customers.

I would love to know who eneded up with all of my bits in their order. As most of the reps in my immediate area are on my team, do you think they might call me to let me know what to do with the things they got sent by 'accident'?

C14 has a sale leaflet and neither are at all inspiring. Roll on 16!

I can now officially fill in my signature :D Thank you all so much for your help and support....I LOVE AVON xxx
