Does anyone know if the rise in VAT in January will affect Avon prices?

No idea yet - Avon will obviously have meetings to decide what they're gonna do. In my opinion whatever they decide - our earning % will stay the same as otherwise they would loose too many reps / too hard to get new ones. Will have to wait and see though.

Hi am thinking about starting the parties to boost my sales. Can't make my mind up to what to give the host. Was wondering what everyone else does whether its a % or free gift?

    Hey there.
I'm really starting to get interested about taking part in this. I am moving to a new area soon and see it as a good way to work around my daughter whilst also getting to know people in the area.

Firstly, I wondered- because I don't drive- how can I find out if the estate I am moving to already has an Avon rep?
Secondly, I'm a bit apprehensive about the cost of buying in the books, set up fee etc, I'm not amazing at sales will this mean that I won't break even or do you find that even if you're not pushy you get enough to get back what you've spent?

Erm... I'm sure I have many more questions actually but I can't think!
I will be moving to Stalybridge in Tameside.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there Lorriellah,

I too was new to the area I live in and have an 18 month old son, and I can honestly say that Avon was probably one of the best things I've done. I get out and about with my little one and get some exercise, and I have met loads of people who I now stop and chat with, and found my way around the area. I feel part of the local community now lol :D

Even if there is a rep in your area I'm sure there will be some streets free - I have been allocated 5 streets close by to me, although the street I live on wasn't available as it was allocated to someone else.

It's really cheap to start up, it costs £15 but this is taken in two lots of £7.50 paid when you pay your first two invoices. This includes your books for the first two campaigns. The books are cheap too, around £4.50 for the first 15 and then 50p per pack of 5 after that. You can reuse the books across two campaigns too, so you only need half as many.

With regards to sales, I have found that Avon sells itself. There are loads of hints and tips on this thread on how to offer promotions and things to increase your sales, but you defo don't need to give the 'hard-sell'.

I hope all this helps, if you have any other questions please ask, and we'll all be happy to help! :)

When the VAT went down, there was no change to the prices so we earned fractionally more. I imagine that as this seems to be a fairly long term rise, Avon prices will go up to reflect it eventually but I guess it could take a few months as the books etc are printed well in advance.

Perhaps someone else has ideas on the subject?

Hia, I have parties in one area, where the hostess gets a % (usually 10%) and in another area they get a gift.

Its up to you. %'s do really work as she will invite more and more people to up 'her' %. Equally, if they dont pay or stuff goes back, it affects her too.

Just been on to have a look and can't see that. Is that because we haven't finished campaign 11 in this area yet? My last order date is 29th June. Do you think it will show after that (if it's not out of stock?)

    snipped

    hi Lorriellah

Welcome to the thread. It doesn't matter if you don't drive. Just let your ASM/SL know you need territory close to where you live if possible or at least walking distance as you don't drive.

When you initially sign up with Avon, you will be charged £15 Admin Fee. This is taken over 2 campaigns only if you place an order. So if you place an order in your first campaign, they will charge you £7.50 and in the second campaign, same again.

You will be given 20 books free from whoever signs you up for your first 2 campaigns. So you will be given 40 books to start with. Depending on your ASM/SL, they may choose to give you more books to start off with.

After your first 2 campaigns, you do need to order your own books, but if you order 15 books, which is 3 times a pack of 5 books, they are currently £4.86 and if you order another pack of 5 books this will only be an additional 48p. So you could order 20 books for £5.54.

This sounds expensive when you first start, but you would use the books over 2 campaigns, so you would get twice the value out of them.

Also if you place an order for a minimum value of £78 or more, you will receive 20% discount on your orders, this means you will earn 20% from your customers orders. If you place an order of £154 or more, you will earn 25% discount.

You will be surprised, Avon sells itself, and there are potential customers out there who know about Avon and may not have seen a book for a while, so will be happy to find a new rep in their area.

Give it some time and you will find your confidence builds and you will be able to recommend products to customers, etc.
