    What is deflation then?

In a world with sound money, a reliable way to store wealth.

In a world without growth, the natural order of things.

Anyone who thinks deflation is always a bad thing doesn't know what they're talking about.

actually I could do with a review of terms and definitions. Perhaps for the feeble minded among us we could have a glossary as a sticky?

Pretty soon though, an infinite money supply will hit a wall called a finite energy supply.

remember though there is always nuclear. note where the global uranium supplies are and where things are hotting up politically.

whilst most stuff is made from oil we could probably recycle some plastic and maybe make stuff from other sources.

That should be now an absolute priority.

ah, you see, I think not to be to blame in things like this....and other ''society gone wrong'' issues actually risks being too blame for being a bit...boring? a bit....tin foil hattish appearing and ultimately still risks being wrong....

its not so dissimilar for other things we've said on other threads recently...about responsibility in other situations. and of course, you never know til after the event who was right: if you know then...things done differently might have been worse/better whatever.

I really miss the shrug smilie.

Perhaps we could replace it with a head scratch smiley? How about these lir - just for you:

I have to say I really like this one icon23.gif, but maybe that is for some of the more flirtatious threads...

Actually, seriously I have you down as a pretty straight up kinda geezer. The point I'm debating is that whenever anything whatsoever goes wrong, all people want to do is point the finger rather than address the issue. It is almost like no-one accepts responsibility for anything nowadays. Haven't you seen the signs?

regarding recycling plastic: living rutally its one of the many things hey won't take in the recycling boxes? Is that different in other areas? also cardboard...etc.

The plastic recyling becomes one of the most hated chores in this house. I always seem to get the bags wher ethe person who bished, put the lid BACK on the botle and so I stand there, almost invariably in the rain, removing lids from botles wondering how much more fleece the world really needs.

    Is fleece rcyclable?

    Good question.

Personally, I believe that whatever can be recycled, should be recycled where at all possible.

In my slightly more urban surroundings, the LA takes all our recycling - plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, cans. The only stuff they don't take is clothing.

Garden waste is alternate weeks. The thing that gets me about that is the LA insist we bag it up for them (in green plastic bags). Now I was confused about these bags. On the positive side, they don't thorow the greem plastic bags in with the garden waste, however they collect them up & after the rounds must have to dispose of them...
