Hmmm. Not really the same though is it.

I agree, but I cant see there being any enforced punishment. I am sure a lot of bankers now feel like they have had their throats cut compared to what they presumed was "normality"

Not according to some sections of the media...

I think it does depend on the sector in which you work.

Did anyone see that bloke (hedge fund manager) on newsnight recently? Have to say I lost the will to listen to his points, purely because of his arrogant self centred worldview. He did his colleagues no good whatsoever I felt. Essentially his arguement came across as "we run the world, & are the only people with the power to say no to politicians".

As has been said before, you can't polish a turd. & he was definitely a turd!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

People who say "we" must shoulder some of the blame are talking bollox.

Yes, a lot of people maxed out on credit and are now suffering.

But what has happened (and is still happening) is not some hiccup that just happened because some people couldn't pay their mortgage. It was greed, fraud and corruption carried out on a grand scale. And it required a fraudulent, debt-based money system for it happen.

It is the biggest bank robbery in history and it's the bank doing the robbing.
And without money reform, nothing will change.

Pretty soon though, an infinite money supply will hit a wall called a finite energy supply.
I know which side I'm on.

Remember - debt is not wealth and inflation is theft.

This is a good article, more or less on topic............

ah, you see, I think not to be to blame in things like this....and other ''society gone wrong'' issues actually risks being too blame for being a bit...boring? a bit....tin foil hattish appearing and ultimately still risks being wrong....

its not so dissimilar for other things we've said on other threads recently...about responsibility in other situations. and of course, you never know til after the event who was right: if you know then...things done differently might have been worse/better whatever.

I really miss the shrug smilie.
