  • Do not touch this company they are scammers
  • Long Post......Very Bad Service. Set a policy up online for my partner & paid a £257 deposit (which was taken straight away). They called him later on to validate the cover & to be told they couldn't insure him as i had missed claim's off (which is fair enough....I went off his old policy that asked for 3 years).  I asked them to refund my £257, they advised that their cancellation fee was £85 + a £31 insurer Time on Risk Charge (it had been on cover for 3 hours & he hadn't even got the car). Therefore charging us £116 for something THEY couldn't write.  Luckily i am an insurance broker (don't do personal lines) and I know the regulations & the fact that this company does NOT Treat Customers Fairly.  I made a written complaint, at fist they wouldn't reply & phoned my partner reading the terms of business over the phone stating they would not refund me. I sent a further email explaining they must reply to a complaint in writing, which they did to confirm that I would get a full refund, less a £31 insurer Time on Risk Charge, which i can live with.  Please do not accept what they are telling you, they are quite forceful over the phone, especially knowing people do not know their rights. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I think I got a full refund as I threatened to go to the FCA if they didn't reply explaining how they followed TCF.  I wish I had read all this before I put the policy with them.
  • So reading on reviews for this company I can see I have fell into their scam.

I ordered car insurance through this company via compare the market which was £300 cheaper then my current insurer and this was on 30th Jan.

Today I get a message to call as my policy going to be cancelled in 7 days, so I call and told although I put I expect to do 15000 miles this year, they checked history and I did 20000 miles for the last 2 years. My address and office has changed recently so I'm now doing a 6 mile round trip to the office I stead of a 40 mile round trip daily hence over the year saving 5000 miles.
As they caught me off guard with this they said the insurers couldnt insure me and can only offer a quote £1000 more which I laughed at and they was cancelling my insurance.
I was in shock with this an now looking back wish I was prepared as i am now as the quote i put in was for mileage for this year coming, plus it's been 6 weeks since i thought i paid for insurance so has this been in place or have i been without insurance.
I thought at the time this is a scam but my main concern was sort out other insurance but legally do i need pay these charges of a broker fee, cancellation fee etc when it's not me that's cancelled it. They offered a product they have not delivered and already took 200 in a deposit and first installment. Im considering reporting them as looks like a fair few fell into this trap and my situation has changed from last year. Any feedback will help.

  • Where to start with these scumbags? I've never known such a corrupt company, to the point when you think your getting a good deal and never seems to end up being a good deal as they will always use small details against you to claim even more money off you. I spent 46 mins on the phone to them yesterday arguing with them about where I park my car at night, I told them that I park in a private car park, which it is... As it's private land, but their argument was that it's a resident car park! Again I told them, yes it may be a resident car park but on private land which in my eyes is a private car park!!!! The jokers are charging me an extra £62 because of this corrupt argument. I highly advise anyone to really study into insurers and stay away from the cheapest insures as they are cheap for good reason. Corrupt corrupt corrupt etc....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • How has RCIB not been shut down with monies compensation or refunded?? Despite sending them all the required documentation via email, they kept saying they have not received it. (They wanted front and back of driving licences, a DVLA check code, etc.). And then they took an extra £700+ from our credit card account without any authorisation!! They said this was because they had not received the documents. They even said at one point they could not see our faces clearly on our driving licences !?? Also, despite having sixteen years No Claims Discount, suddenly I have one (despite no ever making a claim). How do I reclaim the extra £700 they took from my credit card?
  • Please stay away from them. This was the worst experience possible that I had ever for insurance service. I got a low quote but then when I wanted to cancel the insurance before inception. I was asked to call the customer care, which I did. and after the call, I was told that they will send an email that I need to confirm in reply. And I will be charged £60 to cancel the insurance without using it. Then I never received the email from their team(may be blocked by spam filter) and further calls I was sent another email to which I replied immediately. They waited for 3 more days to cancel the policy saying that the email was received late and charged me further for the one day of policy use. I have sent them the email proving that I replied to the email but they would do nothing.

I am taking time out to write this as I wish others to be saved even though I have lost £90 just for clicking on their insurance, I mistake I don't want anyone to do.

Another RCIB victim here currently being put through the mangle.

I too picked the cheapest quote and completed online. Only to get an email next day for an additional £92 for under quoted mileage. I haven't, but based on historical MOT's they can predict the future..

Anyway I've refused to pay any more for an amended policy. Either they sell the policy I was quoted or retract the offer. Their compromise was to switch me to a fixed mileage contract. I have to email a photo of my odometer every month :/
PITA but I'll role with it.

I've had no updated policy documents so god knows if I'm covered.

Most disturbing however during validation call was the guy asking where the gate on my house was. He was obviously looking at my house on google images in real time.

Something tells me my RCIB journey isn't over yet!

    AVOID!

@nikh8910 there is no point digging up every ancient thread that has ever mentioned Right Choice and adding the same story to the end of it.

    Yes there is.
If s/he hadn't done so, I and countless others simply would have known nothing about this company and I may soon be applying for motor insurance.
So, thank you @nikh8910 for bouncing the thread.
