Car insurance - Avoid insuring with RCIB - Right Choice Insurance Brokers

Wish I rad this forum before falling into their trap. I've just cancelled my policy after they found an 'error' despite me giving a full and accurate disclosure - they wanted to charge me an extra £790!!
I've cancelled my policy but they are now charging me £83 to cancel for 4 days on risk??!!
Any idea on the legal grounds for recovering this? This is pure and simple mis-selling or fraud on their part.0 -
...to everyone who has posted here.
I've been looking at quotes on various comparison sites, and RCIB came in with the best price.
I decided to google them before going any further, and after finding this thread, I wouldn't touch 'em with a bargepole!
Personally, I think comparison sites shouldn't include quotes from them – surely they've had enough complaints by now to know which companies are ripoff artists!
Anyway, please know that you've saved at least one person from suffering the crap that you've all been through.0 -
also avoid insuring with premium choice (PC); my cover auto renewed on the 2nd April 2016, i bought a new vehicle a van to pick up on 23/4/16 and PC's quote was very high to insure so i looked else where and found a price nearly £200 cheaper, so i rang PC out of respect because i have been with them for 7 years and hoped that they would price match.. They said they could not and that my cancellation fee will be £117 for 21 days of cover; (£50 cancellation fee, admin costs and commission £21 and non refundable breakdown cover £55). This £117 is half the cost of my yearly car insurance!! 21 days of cover for £117 outragous but I have to pay because they will put a note on credit file.. they would not budge on fair play rules nor would breakdown company even though I said i would take their breakdown cover over to my van.0

Thanks for the warnings. The [word removed] have just taken over my breakdown company AutoAid (also AutoNational Rescue & EuroRescue), long recommended on this site.
The regulators response has been pathetic.0 -
hello all,
I wished I would have visited here before.
I have had a run in scumbags named RCIB.
I had policy with them where I went to change the car yesterday.
After taking details, she said its a 7 seater car and asked me to explain why i need a 7 seater car.
Then she proceeded on to say that they will not insure a 7 seater car because there is a risk.
When I asked her to explain what risk, she wouldn't say and kept on saying there is a risk.
I asked her to put me through the manager and there came another !!!!!!!! who would not give me information either.
I was in month 10 of my current policy. They said that I need to change the car to something else and they might insure but as it stands because I have sold the car, they will cancel the policy and I will lose my years NCB.
I understand that I should have run them up before getting a different car but getting with just 2 extra seats should not matter.
The policy is now cancelled but I would like to complain and would like to know if I have a leg to stand on.
Advice please?
thanks0 -
They are messing me around failing to pay a £72 Autoaid claim.
WHY IS MSE STILL RECOMMENDING THEM ON THE SITE? THERE SHOULD BE A "AVOID AT ALL COSTS" FLAG ON IT!0 -

Mark may I ask the circumstances of your claim? I bought Autoaid cover on 28th April completely unaware of this buyout, and if your claim is clearly covered in the T&Cs I'll be checking my right to cancel.Started 07/15. Car finance £6951 , Mortgage: 261k - Savings: £0! Home improvements are expensive0 -
You can cancel an Autoaid policy even after the cooling off period.
Check the policy ts & cs. The sooner you cancel the bigger the refund.0 -
Not just Appalling Customer Service - Seriously Aggressive. I found these on Comparethemarket.com and they were cheapest package for my needs. They wanted £40 more than the quote provided on comparison site, said they couldn't access the cheaper quote and that it was no longer available 10 minutes after received. I spoke to three different employees, all were rude, with the manager being particularly aggressive and reducing me to tears. Should this really happen over a car quote?!?!! When I asked to speak to complaints department they said there was no one for me to speak too. Complaint to Financial Ombudsman in progress. It was only afterwards that I saw 350+ Google reviews, so many of a similar story - best price on comparison site, then when you speak to them they say price is more, all reporting terrible customer service too. Plus if you have accepted quote online and paid, they wait till after the 14 day cooling off period so they can charge you a admin leaving fee, even though they have not provided you with the goods for the original price. Many more complaints on various internet sites about RCIB. Do not use this company. Its the aggression that is seriously disconcerting, apart from the inconvenience.0
