Afternoon!
Just taking a quick break before I get on with the final slog of the work day.
Remembered the £50 I've been waiting on from Quidco is meant to go into my PP account tomorrow which is great, will be going straight into the laptop account once it's in my bank.
Not much planned for tonight in the way of Moneyness. Just lots of relaxing as I'm worn out atm. I try and do a facemask every Tuesday night too, and I'm really looking forward to that tonight. I use one from Lush and it's like smearing chocolate frosting onto your faceAlso going to have a faff with my new hairdryer, as I think if I take my time drying with one of the attachments I won't need to straighten my hair which will = more snoozy time in the morning!

Nice bargains Cinny, sounds like you've been super busy! Enjoy the face mask and decadent relaxing - because we're worth it and all thatLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380

Afternoon!
I'm sickStill came into work as there wasn't anyone to cover, and I didn't want to leave everyone in the lurch. Not expected to do much work though, which is fine by me. Have plenty of water and pillz but feel rubbish. Only 1 more day then I'm off for 10, and can focus on getting better then.
The plans for relaxing went out the window last night, spent it laid out on the sofa with Pippin feeling sorry for myself. The room was spinning and I was all light headed. Not nice!
Also got a letter from where me and OH are going on holiday in May. Basically saying they're adding more lodges to the site, and our lodge overlooks where they're doing the works. Great! Not impressed, it's not like the site is cheap and we paid the extra to stay in a lodge on a stunning country estate, with rolling hills and pretty views. Not for a lodge on a freakin' building site! hmph. Today isn't going very well!0 -
Sorry you're sick, hope you get better quickly so you can enjoy your time off!
What a bummer about the lodge! Do you still want to go? I think you should ask for the extra money back that you paid for the lodge since you're no longer getting what you paid for!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I meant extra as in it's about £50/70 dearer to stay there, as it's all 'luxury' and what notCould have gone somewhere a lot cheaper but we paid extra because we thought it was worth it.
But yup, we still want to go. I'm going to ring up tomorrow and see if they'll either move us to a lodge away from the works, give us a bit of a discount/refund as we won't be getting the lovely county-ness we were kind of promised when we booked. If they say no to both we might cut our losses, lose the deposit and go somewhere else. We both really love that place and don't want it spoilt by going when there's works going on not enjoying it as much - if that makes sense?0 -
How annoying! And how silly of them to time the works for over the summer season when it'll be busiest. I think your plan's a good one, and if you DO have to cut your losses I hope they at least have the good grace to refund your deposit in this case!
Hope you feel better soon - you have to get better in time for all the Easter eggs!!!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Ah, OK then. Well if they can't move you then you should be demanding the deposit back as you booked in good faith that you wouldn't be looking at a building site! I'd be angling for a discount on a trip for next year when the work is complete too! Shy bairns get nowt as my Dad always says!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Shy bairns get nowt as my Dad always says!
That's excellent! And very true too :rotfl:
Tis annoying though, Cinny, but hopefully they'll refund some cash and it might not be as bad as you think - they just have to let people know in advance. When we went on safari they reduced the cost from £3k to £2k as they were rethatching some rooves near our tent, but we didn't hear a peep out of themGosh, that almost deserved a twirly Martin but probably not as we're still paying for it

Haha Poddle, twirly Martins all round once it's paid off!
Birdie, how do you 'angle' for something like that? I try not to be a shy bairn but I always ask outright and never get anything!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
